Saturday February 13th

Ashlyn and I woke up at 6 and our group went to get our coffee.

Hope: Baby Horse did you finish your German homework?
Me: kann sein
Hope: Ali what did she say?
Ali: she said maybe
Me: dang it Ali I forgot you can speak German. But I will finish it today.
Ali: what are you doing for class?
Me: I have to translate information about German into English
Hope: well let's get back to the hotel
Kelley: race you Baby Horse
Ash: I'll race
Alex: ooh me to. Tobs count us down
Tobs: 1...2...3...GO!
Hope: Watch out for people please!

We all raced back and Alex and I tied. We fixed our plates and sat down at our table. Kelley, Ryan, and I started the movie Inside Out. Jill came in and we all turned out attention to her.

Jill: Morning ladies. I'm going to put on the film and then let you guys split into groups by position before we discuss as a team.

Jill started the film of Mexico and then we split into our groups. Alex, Kelley, A-Rod, Press, and I talked about the movement of their defense. Mexico was going to be a physical battle. After we discussed as a team we had free time to do what we wanted. Tobin and I did our normal soccer tennis until it was time to load the bus. The bus pulled into the back of the stadium and we headed to the locker room. I let Ryan watch Inside out on my phone while we changed. We headed out for warmups and stretches. Back in the locker room we put on our jerseys and walk out jackets. After the anthem, introductions, and the starting 11 picture we took the field.

The whistle blew and Mexico kicked off. The whole first half was rough. Nobody scored but 2 of Mexico's players received yellow cards for fouling Alex and I constantly. We went into the locker room to listen to Jill.

Jill: We need to possess the ball more in the attacking third. I know Alex and Baby Horse are being fouled constantly so let's put more focus on the wings. Alright let's head back out and win this!
Hope: is your uniform green or white Baby Horse?
Me: Alex and I are going for more of the green tie dye look what do you think?
Hope: cute its working for you two.

We took the field again and we kicked off. 10 minutes later we had a sub. A-Rod came in for Press and Kelley switched to the left side. A-Rod came to me and said Jill wanted me on the right wing. A little while later we got a throw in close to the box. Ali threw it in to me and I went towards the corner. I cut it back and made the cross to Alex before I was fouled.

Announcer: Throw in from Krieger. Baby Horse with the ball headed towards the corner. She cuts back and then cross is in before she takes a hard hit. Alex Morgan with volley and goal! 1-0 USA 80th minute. Baby Horse is up and gingerly making her way to midfield to set back up.

Mexico kicked off again and we had a throw in. Lindsey Horan subbed me off and they went to a 4-3-3. I went over to the bench and Sarah wrapped ice on my ankle. The final whistle blew and Alex and I had to go do interviews. I got the Budweiser player of the match. Alex and I finished out interviews and went to the locker room to shower quickly before getting on the bus. Back at the hotel and went to the meal room.

Dawn: Baby Horse your plate is already set out.
Me: okay thanks.

We walked in and I went over to grab my plate.

Me: holy crap how is there any left for you guys?
Hope: that's what I was about to ask.
Ryan: 'Vanna!
Me: hey bubba lets go sit down and finish our movie.

We got our table and Ryan and I ate off my plate while we finished Inside out. We finished eating and Ryan and I went to my room. Ryan watched Veggie tales while I did my German work. By the time I was finished Ryan was already asleep so I just carried him to bed with me. A-Rod either fell asleep or decide to leave him because when Ashlyn came in at curfew Ryan was still beside me.
