How I Became Savannah Solo Part 4

Monday February 15th

i'm post the next chapter too since this was kinda boring - Blaire

Ashlyn and I woke up at 6:15 and did our normal game day routine. We all went to get coffee and then Kelley, Alex, and I raced back. At breakfast Ryan and I ate and watched Veggie Tales. After we finished. Tobin, Ash and I went long boarding until film time. After film we had lunch. Tobin found a ball and we played soccer tennis before loading up the bus at 5. The bus pulled up and we got off and went to the locker room.

We all changed and then had warmups. We came back and put on our jackets and jackets. After walk out we took the field and Puerto Rico kicked off. They sent it back but we won it quickly. I got the ball and went up the left side of the field.

Announcer: Down the left side the talent of 17-year-old Savannah Solo. Ball played inside to Alex who is clear for the shot and Alex Morgan goal in the 6th minute. USA is up and running 1-0.

We set back up for kick off again. We won the ball and headed for the box. Tobin had the ball but was fouled when she went to cut in. Carli set up to take the PK.

Announcer: Lloyd for the PK. The kick is in! USA is up 2-0 here in Frisco. 19th minute.

We set back up and won it immediately. Kelley took it up the field.

Announcer: Cross from O'Hara knocked down by Gostafson, picked up by Baby Horse who passes to Alex. Alex with the shot and it's in. 3-0 in the 21st minute.

We played for a while until we got another chance to attack.

Announcer: Brian up the right. Played in front and there's O'Hara. Goal 4-0 USA. Such a nice touch from O'Hara.

The halftime whistle blew and we went to the locker room.

Jill: great half ladies. Subs for the 2nd half to start will be Horan for Brian. Alright let's head out.

We came out and took the field. We had kick off and went up the field.

Announcer: 4-0 starting the 2nd half and Baby Horse trying to add a 5th. Here comes the cross and hits off defender Rivera, Gostafson can't get to it. Own goal for Puerto Rico to put the US up 5-0.

We kicked off again and won it in the midfield. We started back up the field again.

Announcer: Throw in for US who is subbing. Christen Press is coming in for Kelley O'Hara. Horan with the ball and passes to Morgan. Alex looking for a goal. And it's in Alex Morgan hat trick to put the US up 6-0 in the 58th minute.

We set back up and headed for goal again.

Announcer: Press to Alex. Tackled away and the ball is loose. Baby Horse with the 7th goal. That was Savannah Solo's 6th international goal here in the 62nd minute.
Announcer: The kick is off and its sent way up to Alex Morgan who tries to cut back but is blocked. Klingenberg now on the left with Alex and Baby Horse running in. Here is the cross and 4th goal for Alex Morgan in the 85th minute. 8-0 USA!

We set back up and won the ball.

Announcer: Horan got it outside. Lloyd to Baby Horse and back to Horan. Pass to Alex Morgan who shoots and it goes in. 5th goal for Alex to put the US up 9-0 in the 87th minute.

We set back up and went for our last chance at goal.

Announcer: Horan to Press who is dribbling up and what a shot and its in. Press to put the US up 10-0 in the 91st minute. And that's it the final whistle is blown. Double digits from the USA and Alex Morgan had half of the goals.

We all celebrated and got a break before splitting up to go do interviews, autographs, or head back to the locker room.

Hope: fantastic game Baby Horse
Me: thank you. Do you think the announcers call me that too?
Hope: probably I mean if they say Solo in the box or with the goal people listening would be like why the hell is our goalie scoring.
Me: That would be funny but yeah true. No offense to fans but I hope the team hurries up I'm hungry and tired. Plus, I still need to shower.
Hope: I wasn't going to say anything but you do kind of stink
Me: oh your hilarious

I took off my gear and then went out to the bus. Once everyone was on we headed back to the hotel. I showered and then went to the meal room for dinner. Our groups talked until it was curfew. Ashlyn and I went up to our room and went to bed.
