The Lost Lightwood

Chapter 4

Clary had been having dreams of when she was younger and she was strapped to some furniture and a guy reached inside her brain and took her memories. She woke up with a shock and talked to Simon about it. He had said that when he was kidnapped by the vampires, Camille had blamed Magnus Bane for taking them. Clary had been talking to Jace about Magnus and her memories when Izzy walked in telling them that Simon was leaving. Clary tried to stop him but he left anyway.

"Magnus Bane." Hodge said as he showed Clary, Jace, Izzy, Alec and Amelia pictures of Magnus. "He's over 300 years old. And, as you can see, he's not exactly shield away from the pleasures of every century." There were pictures of Magnus at parties from hundreds of years ago to recently. "His tastes are both exquisite and quite excessive."
"So how do we find Magnus?" Clary asked.
"We don't." Said Jace. "Magnus finds us. We'll set up a meeting, somewhere protected. Lure him out of hiding."
"And I know exactly where we do it." Izzy said and walked over to Hodge. She tapped a few buttons and a picture came up on the screen of a Downworld rave.
"Nice Izzy." Amelia said.
"And where'd you get?" Alec asked.
"During my surveillance of the Downworlders." Izzy replied. "From what I hear, Magnus likes to party."

They had talked for a while about the party and setting up a meeting with Magnus. Hodge had given them a necklace that Magnus has been wanting for a while so that they could make a deal.

Amelia and Alec were ready for the party and sorting out weapons to take. Alec was getting his bow and quiver ready and Amelia was holding up a seraph blade when Izzy walked over.
"Pick a weapon. I suggest your whip." Alec said harshly.
"What's wrong with you?" Izzy asked.
"Nothing." He replied.
"We're going to a Downworlder's rave." Izzy said. "You should be a little more excited."
"It's a mission, not a party." Alec said.
"Yeah, whatever." Isabelle replied. "Before Clary got here, everyday was the same. Go on a mission, kill demons. Go on a mission, kill demons. At least now things are interesting."
"Iz is right." Amelia said.
"Wait so you're on their side now?" Alec asked.
"There is no side Alec, and if you're wondering if I trust Clary now, the answer is yes."
"Wait you trust her?" Alec questioned.
"Did you not see her face when she found out that Valentine was her father? Even she was shocked. She couldn't believe it." Amelia answered.
"Even if she looked like she couldn't believe it, we have no reason to trust her, she showed up out of nowhere, and turned out to be Valentine's daughter, that doesn't seem like coincidence." Alec said harshly. "And on top of all of this, we're gonna end up overpaying some warlock who may or may not have information we need."
"Feel better now?" Izzy asked Alec.
"No I don't." Alec replied. "Ok maybe a little." He smiled. Amelia and Izzy both smiled too. It was nice to see him smile, he hardly ever smiled.
"You can't keep bottling things up Alec." Izzy said. "It's only a matter of time before they explode. Not the fun kind of explode."
"All right, let's go." Alec said. "And we're not going for the music." Amelia and Izzy looked at each other and smiled before following Alec.

Clary and Jace were meeting up with Magnus whilst Izzy, Alec and Amelia kept an eye out for any circle members.

"Look out!" Izzy shouted and Alec shot at someone who was stood behind Magnus.
"Who are you?" Magnus asked Alec, looking him up and down. Magnus ran for the portal he had created and Clary grabbed hold of his arm.
"Magnus, wait! You're my only hope." She said.
"Valentine found us." Magnus said. "I warned your mother this might happen."
"Wait!" Clary shouted but Magnus had already vanished into the portal and in Clary's hand, she had a button off the sleeve of Magnus's jacket.
"The area's secure." Amelia said.
"Looks like he was the only assassin." Izzy said.
"He has a circle rune on the base of his neck." Alec told them as he looked at the body he had shot.
"They found us." Jace said. "It's not safe here. Clary we have to go." Jace started to walk away but Clary was leaning against the side of a table, looking sad and shocked. "Clary." Jace walked back over to Clary.
