I tossed three purple shirts, a black shirt, three pairs of skinny jeans, two shorts, and a big green sweater into my suitcase, then packed my drawstring bag with a few books and stuffed animals. A single tear escaped my wet eyes, trailing down my cheek. No! I can't be crying! It's not like I'm going to miss my parents! Ugh, who am I kidding? Just thinking about it makes me cry.
I wipe the tears, put on a brave face, and trudged down the stairs, where my mom immediately enveloped me in a hug.
"Be good, okay? Behave, do what the man tells you, and try to learn. Keep up with your school work! Text me every day! I love you!" she gave me the normal lectute, tears streaming down her face. My dad firmly hugged me, and I rushed out to the van. It was just a plain red van, and Professor Maple was at the wheel. I hopped into the back, where seven kids were seated. They'd probably been whisked away from their homes too, full of unanswered questions. But I was sure of one thing: they all looked to be my age - thirteen. I sat next to a girl with bright yellow hair and strange marks on either side of her jaw that looked like Galvantula's jaws.
"Hey," she said absent mindedly. I just smiled sheepishly. "Espeon, right?" I nodded.
"Galvantula?" I squeaked, and she knodded a little before returning to playing in her Ipod. I pulled out a book and started reading. It wasn't long before the van screeched to a halt. Maple got out and went into the apartment building we were stopped at and came out later with a white-blond haired boy. His mark was an icy blue teardrop under his nose. Tears streamed down his face. There were no more seats, so he had to sit on the ground of the van. I decided he must be a Cubchoo.
After we picked up Cubchoo boy, I thought I would try to will myself to transform into Espeon. I badly wanted to be one. How cool would it be to be able to read people's minds? I thought this over and over, and it was hours before we stopped again, at a cabin in the country. This time it was a girl with light brown hair and pale skin who came into the car. Her nose was yellow.
I thought and I thought and I thought, but nothing was working! How was I ever going to be an Espeon? This began to frustrate me, so I meditated, clearing my mind for about ten minutes. Then, I just focused all of my brain power on willing my self to become an Espeon and a bright white light blinded me. Suddenly, I was looking way up at everyone, even more so than usual. I stretched my purple paws out, then looked up to see everyone gaping at me.
Hadn't they seen an Espeon before? Oh, well, probably not one that used to be a short, white haired girl. I looked at the book I had been reading earlier, and forced it to be lifted a few inches off the seat using raw brain power. It seemed like whatever I wanted to happen to things, happened, but less than I wanted them to.
Gazing at Galvantula girl, I read her thoughts.
Holy s***! Is that even possible?
Well, it kinda just happened, so...
She turned and looked at me, spooked. Did she just talk inside my mind?
Whoa, I did!
Ah! Stop that!
I turned away, breaking the connection. This is so amazing! I am actually an Espeon!!!!
