“What the heck is a Mod?” Georgia asked incredulously.

“You don’t know? Honestly?” the girl seemed confused. She also looked like she was alert, and ready for us to attack.

“Relax. We’re not gonna hurt you. I have never heard of a ‘Mod’ before either,” I assured her.

“Hm. Who is the owner of your camp?” she still seemed to not believe us.

“Professor Maple. Why?” I answered. She gasped and slowly backed away.

“You- you are a Mod. You aren’t as bad as they tell you to be. B-but…” she stammered before turning around and running.

“Who are they? Stop running!” Georgia yelled before running off after the girl. We eventually cornered her in the garden.

“’They’ are my camp leaders. Professor Maple is evil, you guys are evil…” she explained.

“We’re not evil. And as far as I know, Professor Maple isn’t evil. Why would we be?” I said.

“’Cause… It’s a long story, but… I’m Patience. Maybe I’ll explain this to you on some other date, but… gotta run!” With that, she transformed into Ponyta and galloped away. Wow. She seemed anti-social.

“What was that about?” Georgia questioned. I just shook my head and transformed back into Espeon.

We should go back. I said in her mind, and she transformed as well. We went back to the Gym and I flopped down on my chair, exhausted.

That night we called Summer, Meadow, and Pen (we didn’t have Holocasters to call Sapphire and Candy) and told them about Patience. They all said it was weird and never heard of Mods before.

Soon Georgia and I had to leave to go to Snowpointe City, where Georgia lived. I sadly left my home and fat little Skitty, but Georgia said that she’d heard that there would be a visiting day sometime in the summer.

We caught a bus up to Snowpointe City, a snow covered town that’s shaped like a snowflake. It’s really cold up there.

Georgia and I shivered and pulled our coats tighter around us as we entered the freezing streets of her hometown. She led me to a small house in one of the points of the snowflake. We had to trudge through deep piles of snow to get there. Police tape covered the scene, since apparently her mom had died there. Her dad lived elsewhere in Snowpointe City. Suddenly a girl our age ran up and started calling Georgia’s name.

“Oh my Arceus! Georgia!” she panted, out of breath.

“Hey Callie. This is Emmy, and Emmy, this is Cal,” Georgia introduced. Cal suggested we head to her house since going to Georgia’s was practically impossible.

We entered Cal’s big home and were greeted by an energetic little girl, Cal’s little sister. Georgia and I would room with Cal. As both girls removed their parkas, I noted that they wore identical Dream Rayquazas shirts. Cali's dark brown hair was thick, and she had wide, black nerd glasses. The three of us gathered in Cal’s room and the girls caught up on what had happened since Georgia left. Cal was curious about our marks and why she left, so Georgia explained Gens to her. She was fascinated and shocked, but believed us. We even demonstrated our transformations.

“Sweet!” she commented.

Isn’t it cool? I said in her mind.

“Dude, you can read my mind?” she asked, eyes wide. We returned back to human form and continued talking about crazy stuff.

Soon our short visit in Snowpointe City was over and Georgia and I boarded the bus with the other Gens back to camp. I still didn’t know exactly where it was. I’m not very good with locations and remembering how to get places, so I wouldn’t know.

We reunited with Summer, Meadow, Pen, Sapphire, and Candy when the long trip to camp was over. It was fun to be able to see all the girls again.

But sooner than we thought, a new Gen ability would affect one of our very own…
