The next day, I was sitting on my bed looking at my homework.
Why do I need to know the quadratic formula if I'm a Music Major? Do they think I'll need to calculate the parabola of my piano in the future?!!
I angrily drew my curve for the fourth time hoping it would match with the sample answer.
While I was checking my answers, my phone began to buzz. Who could that me?
I check my WeChat account and saw that I had received a message.
Tàiyáng: Hey!!!! Songbird!
Míngqín: Hi.
Tàiyáng: Do you want to have a study party? I read about them in books.
Míngqín: I have never had a study party. What kind of book was it?
Tàiyáng: It was a japanese light novel.
Míngqín: .......Manga?
Tàiyáng: ........
Tàiyáng: ...... do you have anyone you wish to invite?
Míngqín: You changed the subject, and besides.....I don't have any friends :(
When I wrote this my heart broke. Even though I knew I didn't have any friends, actually admitting it was hard. What is a friend? I haven't had one in such a long time........
Tàiyáng: I'm your friend. And by the end of the day, you will have three. ;)
I couldn't help but smile when I read his text, but then I started to doubt myself. He's probably just being nice......
Míngqín: Really?
Tàiyáng: I am positive.
Míngqín: Thank you. That means a lot :)
Tàiyáng: I have one boy and one girl coming. Counting you and me, that makes four. Yay, that should be enough people to have a study party!
He seemed so happy that I couldn't deny him.
Tàiyáng: Oh, don't worry about knowing your lesson. I think Jùn is getting tired of teaching me so you can be my study partner.
Míngqín: You're funny, Tàiyáng. Are you an otaku?!
Tàiyáng: I'd rather not say ;)
With that our conversation ended. That guy always knows what to say.
How in the world was I able to be his friend?
Getting up from the table, I packed all of my old school books into my knapsack and put my shoes on. Today I was wearing a black pleated skirt with black leggings underneath and a dark green dress shirt. Putting on my coat, I started walking towards the city.
Oh, I forgot to ask for the address of my destination! I took my phone out and messaged Tàiyáng. After receiving a familiar address, I continued walking.
When I arrived at the inner city, I take a couple of short cuts that cause me to stop in front of a certain building.
Opening the door, a small bell announced my presence. The familiar smell of sweet bread and pastries filled my senses. Getting in line, I patiently waited until I made it up front.
"Ah, Míngqín! Why are you here? You don't have a shift today, do you? " The elderly woman asked me with concern.
"No, I am here for the study group?" I asked hesitantly. Did Tàiyáng give me the wrong address?
