Tàiyáng POV
While we were running, I stumble upon something on the ground. I wanted to ignore it and keep running, but my conscious pricked me.
With a heavy sigh, I take a minute to crouch down and feel the cold floor. Suddenly, my hands touch something clunky. I gasp in realization as I quickly grabbed my hidden gun that had fallen onto the ground and load it.
Thank goodness I had stopped!
The sound of his voice echoes throughout the empty underground parking space as I grab Songbird's hand again and pull her with me.
Where is the exit?
Looking around me frantically, I hide behind one of the nearby concrete pillars that was the support to the world above us.
Hearing shots fired, I notice that Jīngxì was shooting at all of the light fixtures. As our world grew darker, our chances of escaping were getting even slimmer.
Songbird's irratic breathing scared me as it matched my own. Racking my brain for ideas, the sound of approaching footsteps left my blood to grow cold.
Looking at our only light source, my breathing hitched when I noticed it looked different then the ones Jīngxì had blown out.
"Could it be...."
"Time's up, Tàiyáng. Come out come out wherever you are."
Holding her close to me, I cover her eyes with my hand and whisper for her to cover her ears.
When I see her obeying my instructions, I aim my gun at the pyschotic man and shot him in the chest. He stumbles from the sudden impact, but his smile was still plastered onto his pale face. Holding his gun towards us, he shot off a couple of rounds. Thankfully, I managed to dodge most of them.
Experiencing a stinging pain that erupted near my side, I pressing my hand on the wound. Needing my hands to run, I remove it only to find that it was drenched with a warm sticky substance. I'm losing blood fast!
"There are eight bombs hidden throughout this underground garage. Whether you kill me or not may not gurantee your survival." Jīngxì cackled.
Using the rest of my adrenaline I block out the pain throughout my body and continue to empty my cartridge into the guy's stomach. I sigh in relief when he finally collapses onto the ground covered in his own blood. Using my last bullet, I aim for the car's gasoline tank hoping for the best.
With one shot, the tank exploded and fire erupted everywhere. Struggling to stand up, I yell for Songbird to run, but she was still in shock. Tossing the now useless weapon, I pick her up in my arms and began to run as fast as I could.
Hearing a beeping sound, I groan when I realized that Jīngxì had detonated all of the bombs like he said he would.
Mentally counting the number of small explosions, I sprint for the exit before the last explosion happens.
If I don't make it out in time, this whole building will collapse with us in it.
I ignore the pain that radiated throughout my whole body as I struggled to run while carrying a paralyzed Songbird. I feel temporary relief when the cold night air hits me in the face as I continue to run.
Hearing the 6th explosion, I hide behind an abandoned metal car and gently lay her body onto the damp ground. Placing my hands on both sides of her, I cover her body with mine as I gaze at her peaceful expression. This might be the last image that I will ever see....
My tears dripped onto her beautiful face. Finally, I decided that this would be the price that I had to pay for my sins.
The deafening sound of the whole building exploding brought pain to my ears as they popped from the intense change of pressure. The burning building lit up the once night sky making it seem like daylight.
I love you, Songbird. Everytime you look up at the sky, you will always see me smiling down upon you. I'm wishing the best for you....because I made a promise to the world that I will never leave your side.

Songbird's POV
Fluttering my eyes open, Tàiyáng's face is right next to mine as he hunches over my still body.
Why is the sky so bright?
Seeing me conscious, Tàiyáng smiles in relief before I see blood run down the side of his mouth. Coughing, he spits up blood and it accidentally lands on my face. Crumbling to the side, Tàiyáng grasps his side and pants heavily as he scrunches his face in pain.
Tàiyáng!" I scream as I struggle to get up. My lower body is paralized again. Dragging my lifeless lower body, I reach out towards Tàiyáng and asks him where it hurts. When he doesn't respond, I begin to panic and scream for help. Searching through my clothes, I find my phone and immediantly call for help. My voice kept cracking as I talked to the operator. The receptionist told me to stay calm until an ambulance will show up.
Calm?! How can I be calm? Tàiyáng could be dying and I can't do anything about it!! No, I will not lose him!
"Tàiyáng, you can't die...not yet. There are so many things we were going to do. Moments we need to share together. We never even finished our song....."
"God, if you can hear me....please save Tàiyáng. I already lost my brother..." I began to break down into tears as I cried for my first and maybe last love.
"Don't cry. Please smile for me ...one last time." He croaked out. Coughing up more blood, his skin looked sickly looking.
As tears streamed down my face, I looked down at him and attempted to smile. Every time I tried to, I would break down into more tears. The one thing that Tàiyáng ask from me...I can't do.
Smiling at my attempt, he held my face until I felt strong arms pull me off of his body. Fighting the person, I notice that it's Sēnlín.
"Is he going to be okay?" I asked Sēnlín as he enveloped me in his comforting arms. His silence was discomforting as I watch the paramedics take away Tàiyáng's body.
