Map....Hmm...
"What if I get lost?"
"Then we will be lost together." Tàiyáng cheerfully said as he carefully guided me away from the oncoming cars. "Stay on the sidewalk."
Following the path, we stopped at a nearby park. The wind played with our hair as we followed the dirt trail way.
"I think this map is making us walk in circles, we've passed that man sitting on the bench two times already."
"Does that man look familiar to you?"
Startled, I turn around and stare down at the man on the bench who was on purposely avoiding eye contact with us.
"No! Is that Sēnlín?" Not waiting for an answer, I run over to him and began laughing as Sēnlín continued to hide behind a newspaper.
"You can reveal yourself now." Tàiyáng smirked as he walked over to us.
Grabbing the newspaper, I peak over and see the same pair of eyes that Tàiyáng possessed.
"Nice to see you again, Míngqin. Hopefully this little adventure is helping you smile more." Sēnlín said while discarding his newspaper into a trash can. Getting up, Sēnlín stretched his arms as he grumbled about sitting there for hours while waiting for us.
"When you say "We're here." That means you're at the park, not you just landed." Sēnlín said as he hit Tàiyáng's arm.
"Ouch.. it slipped my mind." Tàiyáng grumbled as he rubbed the sore spot.
"What's the next mission?" I asked as excitment began to grow again.
Reaching inside his overcoat, Sēnlín took out a small key with a small notecard.
Taking the key, I looked down at the white card that held my brother's sloppy handwriting.
#2.
589
"589. Bus number or Street Number?" Looking up at Tàiyáng, he just smiled at me without giving me any hints.
"Am I getting close?"
"Somewhat."
"Ugh, you're not much help." I complained.
Laughing in the background, Sēnlín told us to call him when the missions were over so we could meet somewhere afterwards.
"You're not going to join us?"
"I have to prepare the next mission." Sēnlín winked at me before leaving.
Waving goodbye, we walked out of the park and back onto the busy main street. "What could it be?" Looking back down at the note, I look at the key again. Lockbox?
As we began to walk down the busy sidewalks, I noticed that we were surrounded by skyscrapers and stores. Apartment buildings were on our right while the busy road was on our left which made the open space of the park more desirable.
"Let's stop and try to figure this clue out in case we walk past something important." Staring down at the key, I rub my fingers over the cool metal.
"Hey you!"
Startled, I turned around and saw an elderly woman who was pointing at us.
"Yeah you! Are you going to open this door or are you just going to gawk at that key like an idiot?" Yelled the old woman as she motioned towards a rusted green door that led to an apartment conplex room right next to us.
