Songbird POV
"Well, everything looks okay so far. The government has been notified of your illness and has decided to place you under medical watch. Well, at least until we can figure out what is causing you to temporarily lose feeling in your legs and consciousness.
Evidently you were on an Orphan Drug to see how long the effects were. From your past records that the government gave me, you have only shown slight symptoms of the drug. Unfortunately, your body is now experiencing the full effects of the drug. Every weekend, you're to report back here and we will perform different forms of test on your body. In exchange for your time, the government will give you a small penchant." Sēnlín carefully instructed me.
He looks at me with worried eyes. "I still think you need to stay for longer...at least until we know what triggers the effects."
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." I smile up at him. During my rehabilitation, I've come to see Sēnlín as an older brother. But I love the younger brother.
"Make sure you take it easy. Don't do anything strenuous and stay away from anything that will cause you to panic or stress. I think that it may be a correlation as to why your body shuts down like that."
Sēnlín's words echo through my head while I was walking to the market to buy food. These past two weeks, I've learned how to walk again. Not very well, but I can do it without any assistance now...
While I was making my way across the busy streat to the open market, I started thinking about how lonely it is without Tàiyáng. School has become unbearable again....
But I'm not complaining. I'm lucky enough to even be able to continue my studies, even though I have to repeat a semester. And we missd our end of semester project deadline...I had to apologize to the people who offered me my scholarship for not coming to classes. Thankfully they let me keep my scholarship and evidently I still have my job at Měi's cafe. The world has continued moving and yet.....it has gotten.....bland.
I miss him....
While looking at some delicious fruit, one girl catches my eye. Turning towards the girl, I immediately recognize her as my former highschool classmate. Focusing my head back on the fruit, I pretended to not notice the girl. We are in a public place....she wouldn't do anything rash......would she?
Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder. I immediantly tense up as I turned to the owner of the hand. Eek, it was her! Why couldn't she just ignore me?
With a fake smile, the the girl circled her arms around mine and leads me away from the crowded place. Before I could screamed, she gave me a glimpse of her knife.
"Let's go somewhere different. I'm getting tired of dark alleys. " She said in a sickly sweet voice.
"Why do you hate me so much? I can't even remember your name." I yelled at her, but she warned me to stay quite. I guess struggling would be futile if she has a knife. I really hate my life.
"What?! You've got to be kidding me? Well, after this, you'll remember." She threatened as she squeezed my arm tighter causing me to wince in pain.
I turn mute from the menacing voice as she pushes me forward into an abandoned warehouse.
When she loosens her grasp, I break free and begin to run as hard as I can. My heart began to pound in my chest as I tried to find the exit.
Where is it?! I have to get out of here....I don't want to die! I at least want to see Tàiyáng before I do.
