Songbird's POV
"You have a dog? She is so cute!" I said as I crouched down to pet the small poodle. Her fur was curly with a soft coffee color. "What is her name?"
"Name?" Tàiyáng asked absently as he filled the dog bowls with food and water.
"You didn't name her?!" I stopped rubbing the small puppy's belly and stared up at him in disbelief. Tàiyáng stopped pouring the doggie kibble, and looked up at me. "If you want, you could name her for me?"
"Really?" I asked excitedly. What should I call her?
"Why don't you think it over while we go to our date?"
"Okay! Where are we going?""Sēnlín said I could borrow his car for this special event." Tàiyáng winked at me as he grabbed a set of keys. Saying goodbye to the puppy, Tàiyáng grabbed my hand before leading me to a somewhat older car.
This will be our first official date after Tàiyáng confessed to me. After exercising my leg muscles and succeeding in walking again, Tàiyáng asked me out on a date! Best reward ever!
Getting in the car, Tàiyáng smoothly maneuvered the car through the busy city. Once we escaped the traffic, Tàiyáng handed me his phone and asked me to play some music. Scrolling through his play list, I spotted a band that recently debuted called NCT 127. The whole car echoed of sweet music as we continued on our journey.
Rolling the windows down, the wind played with our air as we cruised down the highway.
"Dàngāo." (Biscuit or cake)
"Dàngāo?"
"Yep, doesn't it sound cute?"
".......if the name makes you happy....then Yes. It sounds...cute." Tàiyáng smiled at me as he controlled the steering wheel with one hand and held my hand with the other.
Easing the car onto a gravel parking lot, Tàiyáng opens the door for me and helps me out, since I was still a little unsteady on my feet. Holding his hand up for me to wait, he takes out two bags from the back of the car and resumes to take my hand in the other. We walk down a small trailway that allowed us to see the beautiful trees in bloom. It was summer time and the sound of the summer cicadas surrounded us like a thick blanket.
Taking our time, the grassy pathway led us to a hidden creak. It was beautiful and no one was around.
"A good friend of mine showed me how to do this when we were young." Setting the bags down, he crouched down and took out two containers filled with water. "In order to keep the drinks cold, you just place them in the water here and secure them with the rocks. That way their temperature will stay constant with the creak's temperature." Taking our shoes off, we trenched into the cold clear water and looked down at our toes as fish swam mischievously around us. Wading into deeper water, I safely secured the water filled containers like Tàiyáng instructed me.
"Now, we take this" Tàiyáng shows me a big watermelon. "And we put it in the water as well, but we surround it with bigger rocks so it won't float away."
After we finished, we begin to playfully splashing water at each other in order to cool off from the glaring, summer sun. Our screams and laughter echoed around us as we were able to really enjoy ourselves and not have a care in the world.
