You're probably wondering why I'm going to some strange city I've never heard of with a guy I just met yesterday. But if you had just been attacked by a fire breathing hellhound in your own home, you would too. I had to know what Jayden was talking about. Someone had sent a hellhound to kill me and I wanted to know why. And I also wanted to know about my parents.

According to Jayden, the people that raised me aren't my biological parents and that's not hard to believe. I look nothing like them. So here I was walking beside Jayden to who knows where. I asked him where we were going but he wouldn't answer. He'd immediately say something annoying like "Haven't you heard the saying that patience is a virtue" or " You'll find out when we get there".

It was getting to the point that I started wishing I hadn't left the fireplace poker at home. We had been walking for almost an hour and by now we were a few miles out of town. It was a bright sunny day and birds were chirping all around us as we walked through the woods. We had been walking so long that I could feel sweat dripping down the back of my neck and my shirt was sticking to my skin. I had put my hair up in a ponytail but it wasn't much help.

"We're almost there." Jayden finally spoke after 10 minutes or so.

"I'm guessing your still not going to tell me where we're going," I said, slightly irked.

"Nope." He said happily. I huffed in annoyance.

After that it was quiet. Before I realized what I was doing, I started observing Jayden. His hair was perfectly tousled and there was a slight sheen of sweat on his skin. Yet, he did not look at all tired. He looked like he could go on for days and still have plenty of energy. I was slightly jealous. I was never very athletic growing up. I stunk at sports, got hit a lot in dodge ball, and tripped so much during a track that I spent most of my time on the ground.

I hadn't noticed I was still staring at Jayden until he cleared his throat. I jumped slightly and looked him in the eyes.

"I know I'm nice to look at but it's very rude to stare." He said, smirking.

"I wasn't staring." I immediately defended myself.

"Yeah, sure you weren't." He laughed. This guy was getting on my nerves.

He stopped. I had to quickly put on the breaks to keep from running into him.

We're here." He said.

I quickly averted my gaze to where he was looking. It was a small one-story log cabin. It was a basic wooden cabin with a front door and one window. It reminded me of little house on the prairie. I kind of disappointed because I had expected something a little...more.

"A cabin? We walked all this way for a cabin." I looked at him in disbelief.

"It's not just a cabin. Here, let me show you." He said, walking forward. I followed slowly behind him still exhausted from our long walk. When we got in front of the cabin door, Jayden did a quick series of knocks. He waited. I was about to ask him what he was doing when the door suddenly started glowing a bright blue. I had to avert my eyes to keep from being blinded. When the light faded, I looked back and gasped. The wooden door was gone. In it, the place was a bright blue door with angel wings on it. On the ground in front of the door is one of those welcome mats that matched the door. Etched into it are the words "Grata omnibus Angelis". I immediately understood it in seconds.

"Welcome all Angels." I read.

"Exactly. This is the Angel Headquarters. We have one in every state." He spoke. I jumped. I had forgotten he was there.

Jayden pushed the door open and walked in. I quickly followed him. I immediately froze in the entryway of the cabin. Or what was a cabin? The inside of the headquarters was huge. The ceiling reached 20 to 25 feet high and the walls were white. Lovely crown molding, a table in the center, two flights of spiral staircases going up to the second floor, the floor is ceramic tile.
