We left Las Vegas about an hour ago and now we're on the road, eager to get as far away from the scorpion's ashes and that city as possible. I have nothing against Las Vegas but if I ever go back to visit, the only thing I'll be able to think of is evil scorpions trying to kill me. It's not exactly on my list of vacation activities. Hey parents, bring your kids here for the summer! We have theme parks and huge dark scorpions! Fun for the whole family!
I bet most families don't have to deal with that when they're on vacation. By the time, we made it about two hours away from Las Vegas, we came to a horrible conclusion.
We're lost.
My guess is that Jayden had been so eager to leave Las Vegas behind, he didn't realize he was looking at the map the wrong way so now, we have no idea where we're at. I wasn't even sure if we were in Nevada still or not. Or if we were even heading in the right direction.
"Um, Jayden, I think we're lost." I finally told him.
He shakes his head, hair moving with it," We're not lost. I know exactly where we're at."
"And where would that be exactly?"
"Outside of Nevada." He said.
"No, really." I said sarcastically." I know that dummy, I meant exactly where outside of Nevada are we?"
He hesitated," I'mmmmm not sure."
"Just great. I knew I should've been the one to drive." Jasmine pointed out from the backseat.
"We wouldn't even have this car if it wasn't for me."
"Hotwiring a car isn't exactly rocket science," I told him.
"Do either of you know how to hotwire a car?" He demanded.
"Well, no, but I'm sure I can learn. It didn't look that complicated." Jasmine admitted.
"Let me know when you figure that out." He rolled his eyes.
" That doesn't change the fact that we're still lost," I said, gesturing my hand towards the scenery outside the car.
"I'm sure I can get us back on track." He said.
"I think I see a town up ahead," I said squinting out the windshield," Why don't we stop and ask for directions?"
"We don't need directions. That's why we bought this map." He said, tapping the map in his lap with one finger.
"And how is it going for you?" She mocked him.
"I'd be doing better if people don't criticize my driving and navigation skills."
"What skills? You just recently picked up map reading, you dolt." Jasmine exclaimed.
"I'm a fast learner." He said.
"Not fast enough, apparently," I mumbled.
"Really? Et Tu, Brute?"Jayden pouted," I can't believe your siding with my little sister."
"We're twins, Jayden. Stop calling me 'little sister'." She complained.
"Look," I said," Let's just stop at that town ask them for directions. We're wasting time arguing about it."
"I still don't think we need directions."
I rolled my eyes." Seriously, what is with men and asking for directions. Apparently, it's not just mortal men, it's angel men too."
"Hey!" He exclaimed," Do not compare me to mortal guys. Mortals wish they were this awesome."
"Well, why don't you stop at that town than and ask for directions," I said, shrugging my shoulders nonchalantly," A mortal guy wouldn't do that."
