Inside the lab center, it is dark and cold. June and I sprint through the hallways, searching for Leslie.

No sign of her, but I can hear screams. My hair ticks up in alarm as I run, finding her immediately. I duck down immediately after I do.

"Oh my-" June says, ducking down beside me.

She saw.

"What are they doing to her?" June whispers.

My brother is there. Officer Aurelia, Jon Hitman, and another soldier who was lucky enough to pass the Test, and must've been one of Officer Aurelia's cadets she trained. I knew Officer Aurelia would do something like this. Though she never really let it slip through.

"How are we supposed to get Leslie out, now? They outnumber us, Jacob. There's no way." June says.

All of a sudden, something is thrown against the window hard. A blood curdling scream comes with it.

June crunches up to her knees, her hand over her ears, her body stiff. "Jacob... Jacob... I need... we need to get her out." she says. Her face us so calm, but I know deep inside, she is screaming in fear.

Then she's silent.

"Jacob," she says. "I have a plan."

Before I can even stop her, she's banging on the walls, drawing attention to ourselves.
