I run out of the diner and sit on the sidewalk breathing heavily. Was my brother arrested because I went away to the South? He's only fifteen! A tear almost comes to my eye again, but, I steel myself not to cry. But I'm not strong enough. Not for this. They're

Going.

To.

Hurt.

My.

Brother.

I'm just going to have to get him back by force.

Septimus. I had promised him I wouldn't leave him; that I'd keep my promise.

I go back in the diner to sit down and eat the rest of my food.-I need my strength and I've already made a plan. When we check into a hotel tonight, I am going to turn myself into those soldiers. When that happens, I'm going to get my brother and find a way out. It's a big rest, I know, but I have to. There is no other choice. Then I'm going to take up back to the hotel.

"June-" Jacob tries.

"No, Jacob, I'm fine." I put on one of my best smiles, but as I do, my fists clench. He knew my brother was there, and he didn't even take him with us? I want to hurt him so bad, but my sanity takes over and I just sit and stare out the window.

The sky is filled gray, dark clouds. There is no sight of the sun in the direction I'm facing. The sky never looked so fierce.
