Prologue- Perspective

Rarely ever do we hear the villain's side of the story. Hear what their thought process is behind the acts that they commit. Sure, a lot of the time we get their back stories and the whole "why they are the way they are" spill, but there's so much more than that.

Do they regret who they are, or do they embrace it?

Do they miss their old selves, or can they even remember what life was like beforehand?

Are their thoughts conflicted before they commit a terrible act, or do they totally embrace their darkness all the time?

Are all of their insults coming from anger or insecurity?

Are they genuinely insane or just seeking attention in the wrong places?

Everyone hates Blurryface, including himself. But he doesn't show that. No, that would show weakness and that's the last thing he wants to do.

But, most people forget something very important. Something that might make you change your view on him a bit.

He was once exactly like Josh.

An innocent boy who's life ended way too soon, and was charged with protecting someone with a lot of trouble in their life. He grew quite close with the one he was supposed to protect. In fact, he fell in love with her. But, there is one major thing that makes him different from Josh.

He wasn't successful.

He had to watch the woman he fell in love with take her own life.

He had to watch her Agma collect her soul and run off to find another life to destroy.

He had to go through the process of slowly losing his mind out of his anguish and grief until all that was left was an entity of sadness, anger, and regret. He could not remember what love and happiness felt like. He could not remember the warmth of the sun, or the joy that could be found in life.

All he knows is he is not happy, and just like the living he wants other people to be miserable with him so he feels a little less alone. Like he has some sort of control. Just so he can feel something besides a swirl of negative emotions.

Now, is your view of Blurryface any different?

If not, don't worry. His story is not over yet. There is still much more to share with you.
