A/N- I am so sorry you guys I've been so busy today I almost forgot to post this! Better late than never though :)

I love making things dramatic. It's just more fun that way.

I let out a loud un-human scream and lunged for the man with the bleach blonde hair. I made my teeth sharpen to a point and sunk them into the man's shoulder. I almost gagged at the taste of his blood rushing into my mouth, it was disgusting, but I managed to maintain my composure.

Before I could do much else, Josh came up behind me and pulled me off of the man. I was kind of thankful because it gave me a chance to spit out the blood that had accumulated in my mouth.

That was so fucking gross, no more biting unless I have to. Turning around to face Josh, I shoved him to the floor and let my fingernails become like claws. Dragging them down Josh's chest, I caused real damage.

When I punched him in the face a night or two ago, I didn't use my full power meaning Josh would heal quickly or not have to heal at all. But not this time. I was using all the power I had accumulated from collecting souls and drawing extra off of the old couple the floor below us.

Continuing my assault with my nails, or claws I should say, I was too distracted to notice that the man, who I know as Pete from where I took a read of his mind when I had him pinned to the floor, was standing once again and had made his way over to us. He kicked me harshly in my side, effectively knocking me off of Josh.

Crouching on the ground, I let out a deep growl that I could feel rumble through my chest. I have to give it to myself, when I try I can do really well with the theatrics. I wonder if I was an actor or entertainer of some sorts before I was killed and became a Protector? I wish I could just remember...snap out of it, now is not the time.

I have a job to do.

I turned and launched myself at Tyler's sleeping figure, and that's when I got very surprised. And not in a good way. I vaguely registered Josh shouting something at me, and next thing I know I feel like I just dove face-first into a brick wall. I dropped straight down to the ground, landing on the floor with a thud and a groan of discomfort. When I looked back up there was nothing there.

What the fuck? What was that?

Before I could do anything else, Josh came over, grabbed me by my throat, and pinned me up against a wall. He held his arm up so my feet were dangling a few inches above the ground and began to squeeze my throat. Shockingly, it actually had an effect on me.

I could breathe fine, but my nails and teeth started to return to normal against my will. I struggled to get out of his grasp, but all that accomplished was making him more upset. With a yell, he started repeatedly slamming my head into the wall until I decided it was time to call it a night. I shifted back into my shadow form and teleported myself back to hell.

What the hell just happened? I didn't even touch Tyler, didn't get to effect one dream. That's the first time in a long time that a Protector was able to fight me off like that. Maybe since I was trying to collect my second soul.

With this puzzling event now in my memories, I had nothing else to do but drift aimlessly once again until Tyler was awake and away from that stupid cotton candy haired boy and his friend.

Fucking Pete.

The next day I watched Tyler as he went to work at the coffee shop. I'd lightly whisper things into his head, not enough for him to think it was me, but enough to put a damper on his mood at least. After he was done at the coffee shop he went to go play music in the park.

I hated it when Tyler played music because his mind always gets so absorbed in the words he's singing and the instrument he's playing that no matter what I say, he doesn't register me. It's like I get put on mute, and I don't like it.

After he finally left the park, he went out for dinner. As he ate, he started thinking about a marriage proposal that happened at the park earlier and started smiling about it. That just won't do. I need to make up for last night anyways.

I started to speak into his mind, loud enough for him to know it was me this time. He tried to deny my words, but I was able to plant my first seed of doubt in Tyler's mind. If I can turn him against Josh all my problems will be solved. Especially now that I know Josh might be capable of more than the average Protector is.

I smiled as I listened to Tyler debate in his mind about Josh's intentions. I had only said one thing and it was already working so well, it shouldn't take long to make Tyler hate Josh. That's when something happened that I didn't plan, but I could definitely use to my advantage.

Tyler was crossing an intersection and was so lost in his thoughts he failed to notice that another car wasn't going to stop for its red-light, sending hurtling straight into the side of Tyler's car. As his car settled on its side, I noticed that this was the same intersection where Josh had gotten killed for the exact same reason.

That's what you call ironic.

I watched as doctors and nurses worked on Tyler until they declared he was stable and would live. I watched as his parents, Brendon, and Brendon's protector Dallon came into the room. I was the only one who could see Dallon, but none of them could see me.

Tyler was in such a deep sleep due to a slight concussion and all the pain killers that he didn't dream, which meant that I couldn't do anything to him. So, I simply waited for my opportunity to do something.

The next morning when Tyler woke up and asked Brendon to check on Josh, I used that as my opportunity to maybe learn more about Josh and what the hell was going on with him. I followed Brendon as he drove to Tyler's apartment, thankful that Dallon wasn't around. Brendon had sent him to watch over his wife while she got ready for work.

I know Dallon couldn't do much to me anyways since he's still technically a Protector for Brendon even though Yellow Eyes was long gone. But, he was powerful enough to defeat Yellow Eyes who was just as powerful as I am now.

That's enough to make any Collector nervous.

Sadly, I didn't learn much more about Josh while he and Brendon spoke. But, my trip wasn't a total loss. Since it wasn't even close to getting dark, I stayed at the apartment and watched Josh. For awhile he just slept, but then Dallon showed up. I was instantly intrigued and nervous at the same time.

After scaring Josh awake, they went into the living room to talk. I listened as Dallon explained things to Josh that he didn't know before, and cringed when my earlier suspicions were confirmed.

Josh is more powerful than the average Protector, and he had Dallon, Pete, and the little man in the fedora, Patrick I think, helping him.

This may be harder than I thought...
