Chapter 3

Zayna went into the school cafeteria and sat at the far corner to avoid everyone. Soon enough Zenobia came in and joined her and started talking about the Physics test that she most properbly failed.

"Hey guys, can I join you?"

Slowly Zayna turned around and came face to face with Nate and his cousin standing beside him.

"Sure" replied Zenobia excitedly, which she received a glare from Zayna.

"Oh yes this is my cousin Davina. Davina these are my friends Zayna and Zenobia." Introduced Nate.

Friends! Friends! Last time I checked I was trying to get the hell away from you.

Nate sat next to her while Davina took the seat next to Zenobia.
Instantly Zenobia and Davina clicked and started talking about the outfits they would wear to the banquet.

"Why aren't you going to the banquet?" Asked Nate while munching on some French Fries.

He was determined to find out about her because the moment he laid eyes on her he knew she was different from the rest of the girls in this school.

"I don't feel like it." She replied quickly.

"Come on Zayna. What's the real reason?"

She just stared at him contemplating whether she should tell him or not.
Sighing she spoke.

"My mom can't afford it."

Nate pitied her which made him come up with an idea.

"I'll buy you the ticket." He said with a glow in his eyes.

"No, Nate don't buy me a ticket. I never wanted to go anyway. It's not my kind of style."

"I insist - -"

"So who are you going with?" She asked quickly.

He gave her a quizzical look before answering,  "I'm was going with Renè but then Taylor asked me first so I'm going with her instead." He let out a small chuckle at the thought that Renè is going to kill Taylor.

Zayna was a little saddened that he never thought of asking her but she wasn't going to go anyway. So why was she making a big deal out of it?

After a few more minutes of chatting she then realised that there is more to Nate than she initially thought.

Before lunch ended Zayna quickly made a trip to the girl's restrooms.

While washing her hands she heard screaming voices coming from the door.

"If I wasn't mistakened Nate asked me to go to the banquet and not you, you stupid wh**re." Renè exclaimed.

"Who in the world cares about you when he already has the full package." Said Taylor while gesturing to herself.

"You know I would love to see things from your point of view but I can't seem to get my head that far up my a$$."

"You little - -"

Zayna quickly jumped in and yelled, "Okay that's enough! Taylor just shut up and Renè come with me."

"Renè you need to chill out. Taylor isn't worth it and you know it." She said trying to calm down a very angry Renè.

"I know. I know. But if that she - devil comes close to me again she's going to wish she never came out of the birth canal.

(Day after the banquet)

"Hey Melissa. Did you see what happened at the banquet?"

"No I was to busy dancing with Dillon. Well what happened?"

"Taylor kissed Nate. Mrs Henderson even had to stop them before it got out of control."

Zayna slammed her locker shut and rushed to the girl's bathroom, banging the door closed.

She leaned over the basin, taking deep breaths trying to calm down.

Stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid!!!! He is just like the rest of them Zayna. Get over him!!!
