Zayna :) :
>> Who's this?

She clicked the send button and placed her phone back on her bedside table.

She was angry.
She was upset.
She was lost.
But above all she was hurt.

No words could describe what was going through her mind. With these past four months with no contact, there was not a day that went by without her thinking of him.

The first week without him, she still expected to see his car parking in the driveway or finding him in the kitchen, having a hearty conversation with her mom. She missed the feeling of him holding her when things got tough and thinking that her problems won't leave her alone.

He saved her life.
But then again almost ended it.

"Lord, I'm afraid. I need you more than ever. Please help me get through this." She whispered quietly.

She picked up her phone again and went into his profile. His picture was of him and another girl laying in his arms with wide smiles on both their faces.

The girl in the picture had beautiful golden hair with blond streaks, a perfectly shaped face, nose and mouth. Her eyes were a shocking light blue colour that only she could pull off. Zayna swore this could be a Spanish supermodel.

She looked at his status and it read, "Ameliana💙"
When she saw that heart her whole body turned numb. From that moment she knew what it was like to be forgotten. To be a side dish, a beat up old doll.

She knew what she had to do. She wanted to make him realise how much he has hurt her. But the real question is why did she feel like this? They were never dating so why did she feel so hurt? They were just friends, him himself said that he wants to be friends.

With a heavy sigh she connected her phone to her stereo, via Bluetooth and played the song Tears by Clean Bandit feat. Louisa Johnson. She distracted herself for the rest of the day by cleaning her room, dancing and doing homework and assignments for the week.

But nothing could keep her mind from going back to Nate.

"When last have you spoken to him?" Asked her mom, placing the steak in the pan.

Zayna sat on one of the bar stools, drinking some Coke that her mom brought home from work. But she spiked the drink with a little bit of vodka to help forget about the downfalls of life.
"Recently, Mommy. Why you asking?" She asked, taking a sip from her drink.

"I just don't want you to get close to him again. Heaven knows what will happen next."

She got off the stool and placed her glass in the sink. She turned around and leaned on the counter, facing her mom.

"Mom, he was blinded by anger and the whole thing was an accident. He wasn't aware of what his actions were."

"I know Sweetheart. I just don't want you to get hurt again. So many things have happened in your life and so many of them made you so depressed that I didn't know what to do. Yes, I thought that he was good to you but no man should ever do that to a lady, let alone putting them in hospital. Zayna, did you ever think of what could happen to you if those guys didn't stop him? He would've literally killed you. Please Zayna, I can't lose you too. You and I both don't know what he's capable of." Said her mom breaking a bit at the end.

She pulled her mom into a tight hug as the tears fell from her mother's eyes. "I promise I'll be more careful, Mommy. Stop worrying so much, I can take care of myself." She said, rubbing her mom's back soothingly.

They stood in silence. The only sound that was heard was her mother's heavy sobs. After a few more minutes her mom went back to finishing off dinner while Zayna went to her room.

She took out her black boxers as well as a dark blue tank top and headed towards the bathroom. She stripped out of her clothes and took off her glasses, turning around she looked at the mirror while tying her hair into a ponytail.

She took a step back and observed the girl staring back at her. She placed her hand softly her hands as she traced the light scar right by her hairline and trailed it to her cheek. She titled her head slightly to the side and saw the scar on her neck. She ran her fingers gently over the trail which ended by her navel. The moment she dropped her hands everything came back. The almost rape in that alley as well as the day Nate almost killed her.
Snapping out of her thoughts, she climbed in the shower. She turned the tap and felt the water come down from the shower head as it ran down her fragile body.

Don't leave me in all this pain
Don't leave me out in the rain
Come back and bring back my smile
Come and take these tears away
I need your arms to hold me now
The nights are so unkind
Bring back those nights when I held you beside me

A sob escaped from her lips as the tears streamed down her face. Her angelic voice broke as she sang the chorus of the song.

Un-break my heart
Say you love me again
Undo this hurt you caused
When you walked out out the door and walked out of my life. Un-cry these tears
I cried so many nights
Un-break my heart
My heart

(Un-break my heart by Toni Braxton)

She could no longer continue as her breathing shortened. She clutched onto her chest when she felt a sharp pain shoot through. Her body was trembling as her thoughts were going haywire.

That night she slid down her bathroom floor and once again cried for everything and anything. She just couldn't understand why these things were happening to her.
