It was dark outside. The moon's light shone through her curtains.

It's been a week since Nate and Zayna had their little episode and Zayna stayed as far away from him as if he was some kind of disease.

"Come on Zay. Tell you brother slash cousin what's wrong."

Zayna and her cousin, Charlie, were currently sitting in Zayna's room munching on popcorn and listening to music.

Every weekend Charlie would come over and spend the entire weekend with his little cousin.
It's like a ritual for them. It all began since they were five years old. The two of them made sure to spend as much time together as possible because he went to a school that has some distance than hers.

"No Charlie. If I tell you, you will wring his neck." Said Zayna shoving a handful of popcorn in her mouth.

"Oooo it's a 'his'. Okay chica spill the beans." Demanded Charlie getting excited.

"No"

"Well then you asked for it."

In a second Charlie tackled her to the bed attacking her with tickles.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! CHARLIE PARADA (Stop it)!!!!!!!  BWAHAHAHAHA........  OK FINE I'LL TELL YOU!!!!!" squealed Zayna.

Charlie stopped and climbed off her taking a seat on her bed, leaning against the headboard.

She told him everything what happened ever since she met Nate.

A few minutes after that he still didn't reply. The only thing that filled the room was the song Ain't my fault by Zara Larsson.

"Uno, dos, tres, cuarto, - -" counted Charlie in Spanish.

"Charlie why are you counting?" Asked Zayna beginning to get a bit nervous.

"Encerrar Zayna!" He exclaimed, "How could you let things get so far?! Actually how could you let him touch you in the first place?! I don't care if you like him you should never let a guy touch you like that!"

He was now breathing hard after shouting at her.

"I know Charlie. I know what I did was wrong and I already feel ashamed that I let things get carried away. But to know that he cheated on Taylor with me makes feel desalñado. Lo siento, Charlie." She said in a small voice.

He glared at his cousin throughout her entire apology but after a while his eyes softened once he looked closely at her.

Her eyes were filled with sadness, hurt, guilt and disappointment.

Once I get my hands on that prick he is going to wish he never layed a hand on my cousin. He thought to himself.

"Come here kid." He pulled her into his arms where she cried her heart out.

He stroked her head, whispering soothing words into her ear, trying to calm down her shaking body.

"I'm so tired of crying, Charlie. I hate him so damn much. I hate him for messing with my feelings as if they are some toy." She sobbed into his chest.

"Sosegar, Zayna. Don't speak, just let everything out. He is not worth your tears." He whispered into her hair.

"And to think I said that'd I'd never cry over a guy. Do you now understand why I despise love so much?" She mumbled into his chest.

"Si, Zayna si."

For the rest of the night they stayed cuddling together watching a whole bunch of series such as her favourite, Law and Order SVU and his favourite Chicago PD.

He hated seeing his cousin look so vulnerable. He promised to protect her no matter what.
After that whole Edward thing and their grandfather's death he could understand her pain.
She has never been the same for the past month but she tried to mask her pain behind her smiles.
