She sat in the kitchen drinking her coffee and eating some toast.
She wore a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, dark blue skinny jeans and a pair of white heels.

She only had a few minutes to spare before she had to leave for work. The song Heathens by Twenty One Pilots echoed throw the house.
After a while, a pair of arms snaked around her waist as warm lips pressed against her cheek.

"Good morning." He greeted in a husky voice.

"Hi." She said blankly.

He snuggled his face in the crook of her neck and inhaled her scent.

"Nate let go." She said sternly.

Releasing a sigh, he stepped back and walked to the fridge. She picked up her dishes, placing them in the sink.

"I'm leaving now."

"Zayna hold up."

"What is it?" She asked impatiently.

"Can we at least try to be friends. Like, can we all over again?"

She contemplated as she thought about all the things they've been through together. He was her guy best friend. He held her when she was down and was her shoulder to lean on. At that moment she knew she needed him back in her life.

She stretched out her hand to him, "Hi I'm Zayna."
He took hold of he'd hand and gave it a firm shake, "Nate."

"Well it's nice to meet you Nate, but I've gotta run." She grabbed her Nike backpack and headphones and headed towards the door.

"Have fun at work." Yelled Nate before she slammed the door shut.

"Bye Kai. See you tomorrow"

She left Her office and walked towards her Golf 6 GTI. She threw her backpack in te passenger seat, selected a good radio station and drove back home.

She thought about what had happened that morning. She was so happy that she could call him one of her friends again but she was so scared if falling for him. She knew he loved her but was unsure whether she believed him or not.

Sighing, she parked her car and took the elevator up to her apartment. As soon as she stepped in she immediately took off her heels.

"Nate?" She called out, but was greeted by utter silence.

Thinking that he went to some of his friends, she took off her clothes as she walked to her room because she is werid like that.

She grabbed her grey sweatpants and black tank top off her desk chair and tied her hair into a messy ponytail.
Wanting some air, she grabbed her guitar and stepped outside onto the balcony that was connected to her room.

She began playing some chords to her favourite song before singing.

Empty spaces fill me up with holes
Distant faces with no place left to go
Without you within me I can't find no rest
Where I'm going is anybody's guess

She played the chords and sang the lyrics with all her heart and soul. This song is the exact definition of how she's feeling.

I tried to go on like I never knew you
I'm awake, but my world is half asleep
I pray to this heart to be unbroken
But without you all I'm going to be is..
Incomplete

Nate stepped inside the apartment, almost falling over Zayna's heels that stood in the middle of the doorway. Walking past her room, he heard her beautiful voice singing.
