"I said no."

"You're not the boss of me."

"You're not going."

"Yes I am."

"No you're not."

"Yes I am."

"No you're not."

"Yes I am."

"No you're not."

"No I'm not."

"Yes you are."

"Wait a minute."

She laughed as he glared at her. He snatched away her laptop bag and placed it against the wall of the living room.

"Nate stop being such a cabrón." (Asshole)

She reached for her bag again but her hand got slapped away before she even touch the strap.

"It's called being a good boyfriend."

He took her bag and placed it in his room before locking the bedroom door.

"Since when are you my boyfriend?" She asked dumbstruck.

"Since the day you took care of me after I had that horrid nightmare."

He wrapped his arm around her waist and pecked her nose.

"Nate, I told you, I'm not ready for a relationship." She said and took his arms off her.

"Then what the hell are we, Zayna?!" He took a step forward and stared straight in her eyes.

"Listen, Nate. I like what we have now but I really don't want to jump into a relationship. Now if you'll excuse me, there are clients waiting for me. She said exhausted.

"Zayna, come back here!" He yelled angrily.

"Vente a hacer puñetas" (Leave me alone)

He turned around and stormed towards her. He grabbed her arms and pinned her against the wall, pushing his body on hers.

"I'm not done with you." He growled.

"Me vale madres." (I don't give a f**k) She said as she struggled to get out if his strong grip.

He brought her towards him then slammed her back against the wall.
She closed her eyes as she felt a massive headache appearing.

"Dammit, Nate. Let me go." She hissed.

"Why won't you f**king be with me?!" He spat in her face. His chest rose up and down at his rapid breathing as fire burned in his eyes.

"Look at what you're doing right now!"

"Can't you f**king see that I love you?!"

His nails dug into her wrists causing trails of blood to appear.

"If you love someone you wouldn't treat them like this." She whispered.

Angrily, he tossed her on the floor. She curled into a small ball as she trembled in fear, waiting for the next thing he would do.

"You need help." She said in a small voice.

He gave her one last look before storming out of the apartment.

"Dear God! Why?!" She said as she looked up at the ceiling.

Slowly she got up and struggled towards her room. She removed her clothes and jumped in the shower once again.
She washed her tear stained face and aching body.

Every single damn time something good happens something always goes wrong. Why is that? What did I do to deserve this pain?

While drying herself, she jumped when she saw her reflection in the mirror. In the middle of her back was a blueish purplish bruise.
She looked down at her wrists and saw nail marks that Nate had dug into her skin.

She couldn't allow herself to stay in a house with a man who has some serious issues. Just when they both thought he was better, something like this just happened.

Once she was dressed she grabbed a duffle bag from her cupboard and packed in some clothes; underwear and toiletries. She snatched her phone and walked into the kitchen.

She grabbed a piece of paper and a pen from the counter and wrote:

Dear Nathaniel
I'm out of town for a few days
And don't know when I'll be back.
-Zayna

She taped the note to the fridge and left her apartment. She wouldn't allow herself to go through this, but her love for him was great.

She climbed into her car and drove where the road led her. The song Fallin' by Alicia Keys played softly in the car.
Listening to the lyrics of the song caused tears to fall down her face. Every single word that Alicia sang made her cry even harder.

She roughly wiped away her tears and tried to focus on her driving.

Suddenly she felt her car get knocked on the side, causing it to spin. She grabbed the steering wheel for dear life as her car spun out of control.
She tried turning the wheel but it wouldn't budge. The car skied off the road and rolled down into a ditch.

The seat belt choked her and her head banged against the window. She heard the sound of glass shattering. When the car came to a still she couldn't keep her eyes open.

Her head was spinning and her eyes were hazy. She looked down at her arms and saw a large trail of blood before drifting off into a dreamless sleep.
