Five years later...
"Wake up, baby." I softly cooed, shaking his small figure gently. I stared at my little boy with adoration, feeling nostalgic like any other day.
The features of his face resembled so much like his father. I smiled in contentment. Even though I chased him out of my life, but I had a smaller version of him in my life.
And, I will always love my boy like how I loved him.
He stirred in his sleep after shaking him for several times. This boy was such a lazy bum, just like his father. The fact that he had adopted his father's bad habits really infuriated me sometimes.
I watched as his little fingers rubbed his eyes before opening them as he stared at me. "Mama, I want to sleep." He groaned aloud, grabbing his pooh bear close to him as he snuggled deeper.
I smiled, "No, you have to get up for breakfast now. Mama have to work later." I shook him again, this time with a little more force before he finally sat up, messing his bed hair.
"Come on, baby." I urged, widening my arms for him. He let me carry him as I strode towards the bathroom, setting him down on the floor before closing the bathroom door.

I set him down on his car seat, buckling his seat belt before opening the compartment. I retrieved his own set of toys for him to play, so that I could focus on driving at ease.
Starting the car, I waited for the engine to warm up before the wheels hit the road.
Clamping my hands on the wheel, I trained my eyes on the road and back to my boy to check on him before going past the corner.
Pulling up by the curb, I parked my car at the vacant parking lot before killing the ignition. "Come on, baby. Out you go." I chuckled, unbuckling his seat belt as I carried him out of the car along with me.
I grabbed my handbag before climbing up the steps as I pushed past the glass door.
My employees greeted me upon noticing me while some approached my boy to play with him. He was really popular even in the restaurant I was managing.
I was 18 when I left the high school. So technically, I hadn't graduated.
But I quickly got into a local high school at the city and got myself a part-time job in this restaurant. Even though by then, I had found out that I was having his child, but I managed to hide the bump within the few months of suffering in high school before graduating.
As for my career in this restaurant, the manager thought highly of me and announced me as his successor, thus making me the new replacement of his post after a year.
It was a good thing that my income was stable and I didn't have to worry about not being able to feed my child. I am a mother now and I have my own sets of considerations to make, which ain't easy.
But I still managed to survive with a little help from a friend I had made who owned a pub in the city. Sometimes, she would drop by to have a word or two and play with my boy. When I am free, we would hang out together with my boy in tow.
To me, life right now was simple and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Even though sometimes, I missed that jerk. I can't help it, not when my feelings for him still stayed in my heart, buried deeply within.
And the flame had never once diminished by itself, because I could never forget him, even until the day I die.
I still love him with all my heart.
Chase.
