After giving Leo a bath, he ran out of the room in a hurry.
That little boy can't seem to part with his toy car even for just a moment.
I shook my head, a smile playing on my lips. Putting away the shampoos, I stood up and stretched my limbs.
Exhausted was the word to describe what I was feeling right now.
"Mama, someone 'bang' 'bang' the door." My brows were pulled together into a frown instantly.
It couldn't be Camilla, she would be working in the pub at this hour. Who the hell is knocking on my door?
Rolling up my sleeves, I walked to the living room to hear loud knockings on the door.
Opening the door, I took a step back in surprise. "Chase?" I gasped, looking towards Leo who was peering in his direction.
He stumbled his way towards me as though he was drunk. "Are you drunk?" I whispered, my brows furrowing deeply.
I can't let him appear in front of his son in a drunken state.
"Leo, go and sleep." I said, looking towards him with a strict expression spread across my face.
He nodded immediately and ran into his room. I steered my attention back to him and glared at him.
"What were you thinking? You shouldn't have appeared in front of Leo while you're drunk." I chided, my nose flaring in anger.
He chuckled, "You're still the same. You look cute when you are mad."
My eyes widened at this version of Chase before me. His old self has slowly resurfaced.
I gulped. Was this good news?
"You're drunk." I pointed out, knowing that he would no way in hell show me his inner side while he was sober.
He had just lost his senses for a moment.
He chuckled, pointing at himself in disbelief. "Me? Drunk? No way in hell will I get drunk after 5 bottles of beer."
I sighed, "Yeah, yeah. Whatever that makes you happy. Now get your ass on the couch."
With that said, he unbuttoned his shirt and threw it onto the floor. I gasped when he unbuckled his pants and dropped it. I covered my eyes while hearing a chuckle from him.
By the time I peeled my eyes open, he was in his boxers with his six packs on full view.
Gulping, I turned around and tried to walk away, but he pulled me into his arms instead. I struggled against him, pushing him away with all my might.
"It's all my fault." He suddenly said, making me stop struggling as I leaned into him, listening to his heartbeat.
"If only five years ago I have stood up to stop him, you wouldn't have ran away just to protect me." He whispered, planting a chaste kiss against my forehead.
I pulled away from him with a frown replacing my features. "Are you even drunk in the first place?"
He smirked, mischief twinkling in his eyes as he dragged me down with him while he laid down on the couch.
"Chase." I groaned, hearing a low chuckle from him as he wrapped his arms tightly around my body.
"This time, I am not going to let you go so easily."
Shit, I was trapped in his arms this time.

I peeled my eyes open, feeling energetic than any other day. Seems like I have slept well last night.
Sitting up, I looked around me to find him gone. I stood up, walking around the house to look for him.
When it was all futile, I returned back to the couch and sat down.
I sighed. That's right, why would he even be here in the first place if he wasn't drunk?
All that happened last night was just a dream, a dream which could have been almost too real.
He and I were impossible.
