Little feet tumbled out of bed
Hours earlier than normal
To run outside
Crashing waves
Swirled with
Sunrise smoke
Made the best morning
Television
"I love you's"
Morphed into
"apply more sunscreen"
Sand became ubiquitous
Finding its way through
Floor tiles
Pillow cases
Coffee mugs
Movie nights
Became evenings
With a screen of stars
Decorating the sky
As our favorite films
Turned into
Moments we shared
In piles of broken shells
We caught fire flies
Rather than
Buses or cabs
Melting through days
Like the
Popsicle trails on our lips
This place was
Always temporary
But
Permanent
If you look
Hard enough
