Forest fires chase other forest fires
Only to burn each other
Into cocktails of ash
And fireflies
Which shows you a perfect
Twisted demonstration of how
Life emerges from death
But destruction and beauty should
Not always stay together long enough
For anniversaries
Trailer parks
Breed skyscrapers when they meet
On city streets
The wine-seller and the car salesmen
Play tug of war with tongues
In the gas station restroom
The kindergarten teacher and the pedophile
Sit together on a public bus
His foamy cotton mouth kisses her lipstick
On the way to work
This is not supposed to be a recipe
Of things never adaptable to a pallet
Some love is not meant for other love
Separate yet different and a little bit of the same
Does not always mean
Good enough for intimacy
I have begun to learn
That some mountains were never meant
to touch the sky
Occasionally,
They have to leave that to the clouds.
