Kenny finished brushing her hair, loving how soft it became once she did. Suddenly, she heard a tap. Unsure of where it came from, she stood up from her chair.

Then, a small crash, and a pebble came flying into the room.

A pebble.

She rushes to the window, yanking it open. She scoffed and brought her hand to her forehead when she saw who it was.

"Why am I not surpri--"

"Do ya remember when we had the fight about Olivia?" He grins up at her. "And I came to ya, at this very window with pebbles?"

"Yes," She said stubbornly.

"Well, I'm standin' here to remind you that our love has been through so much--and I'm not about to give up on it, and don't even try tellin' me you don't agree,"

"Well, Romeo, you made a hole in the window,"

"That's all you got ta say?"

"I could say many things right now--but I'd rather not use that language," She smiles sweetly. He smirks.

"How about I come up there and see if I can't make you say certain words--"

"That will not be necessary--"

He was already gone. She sighed, counting how many seconds she had to compose herself.

By forty-seven, the door opened.

"Sorry, Jack had questions." He approached her fast, planting a kiss on her lips.

"I'm used to it by now,"

"Sad to say I am too,"

She smiled softly as he took her hand.

"You know I am sorry, dont'cha?"

She sighed deeply. "Of course I do,"

"Good, 'cause I got plans," He tugged on her hand, leading her out of the room.

"And these plans include what?"

"If I told ya, where would tha fun be?"

"Back in the room with my dignity,"

He ignored her comment with a look, and she suppressed a grin. They passed the small room where injured children remained asleep, and the room where the adults played cards.

Their departure, however, did not go unnoticed. As soon as they passed the hallway, Jack stood up. Race pulled his arm.

"She isn't a child anymore, Jack."

As hard as it constantly was to come to terms with, Jack sat back down.

"After tonight, definitely not," Skittery slyly said.

"You have three seconds to get out of my sight before your eyes leave your head," Jack said calmly as Skit made a disappearance.

Rosaline snickered to herself, snuggling into Race.

On the outskirts of Manhattan, Kenny and Spot walked hand in hand.

"Do you trust me?" Spot inquired.

"Wha--Spot, of course I trust you,"

"No, afta' everything that's happened, all tha shit that went down between us,"

"My answer still stands."

"Good, I need you to,"

"What are you talking about?" She asked, confused.

"Trust is the only thing we need, Kenny," He said. "We don't need money, we don't need the status, we don't even need the newsies; all we need is each other, and trust."

"What brought this on?"

"I'm thinkin' of our future,"

She grinned, the inner teenager shining through. "We have a future,"

"We's always had a future,"

"I guess you're right," She adds, "About the trust."

He nods.

"We've given each other many reasons not to trust each other, but somehow we always fell back into each other's paths."

"That's how fate works,"

"You think this is our fate?"

"I know so,"

"How," She smiled as they reached the dock.

"I know you are the one I am meant ta be with by looking into your eyes, and I can see that I am your everything. I know when you kiss me, you kiss me like you's about to lose me,"

She grins as they had found themselves in Spot's room.

"Go on," She said as he had backed her up to the wall.

"I know by the way you say my name."

"Mmhm," She closed her eyes as his hands traveled her body so delicately but desperately.

"I know by the way you watch me, when you don't think I notice," His lips lower on her neck.

"Spot," She breathes.

"Mmm," He responds. She smirks.

"My turn."

She presses a hand to his chest, pushing him back, causing him to stumble a bit. He catches his balance as he sits back on the bed.

"You know how I know you're the one for me?" She slowly removes her coat, never breaking eye contact.

"I'm dyin' ta know," He watches her every move. Next comes her top layer.

"Your eyes, they long for me with a single glance,"

"Keep going,"

"How I am the one you immediately can find in even the most crowded rooms," He admires the bare skin of her legs.

The lace that remained on her body was all that was stopping him.

She lifted his chin with a single finger, bringing his eyes back to hers.

"Let's not forget the way you say my name,"

Spot's favorite thing of Kenny was her confidence, so you can imagine his excitement at the moment.

She worked the buttons on his shirt as he kissed her jaw.

"I love you," He breathed.

"Prove it,"

His eyes were on fire as he quickly flipped their position so she was under him. He nipped at her ear as her breathing picked up.

"I have been dying to get you alone," He growled.

"Why did you want me alone, Spot?" She asked innocently.

"Why don't I show you?"

She grinned, and all her nerves were gone. The man she loved with all her heart was finally going to be ultimately hers.

And, the woman he had wholeheartedly loved was going to be his.

And, that's exactly what happened.
