The next three days passed like centuries.

Kendall waited in depressed anticipation as she frequently pondered where her true love was, and what he was doing.

She constantly asked herself: was he enjoying life without her?

Did he feel free without her?

Was he finding other women?

Although she felt in her heart that he loved her, she couldn't quiet the doubt that was screaming inside her.

She also began to question the life ahead of her. Inside, she knew she was doing the right thing. But, was it the right thing for her?

She had learned that sometimes, what you want and what is right for you can be very different things. But in what instances are they the same?

"Rise and shine, bride to be!" Aunt Anne sang while carrying a tray of tea to Kendall.

"Good morning, Aunt Anne,"

"The boys have relocated to a nearby hotel to avoid seeing you at any costs,"

"My goodness, why so strict precautions?"

"We wouldn't want to curse the marriage!"

"I'm afraid that's been done," She muttered.

"Did you say something dear?" Aunt Anne said obliviously.

"The tea is delicious,"

"I'm glad. I'll leave you to wake up,"

"Send Rosaline in soon, if you would,"

"Of course, dear,"

Kendall got herself up after finishing her tea.

"Knock, knock!" Rosaline called.

"Come in, Rosaline."

"The big day has arrived!"

"Apparently, it has,"

"Kendall, I know you have gone through much, but today should be a joyous occasion!" She says.

"I would appreciate it if we could not discuss him,"

"Right, my apologies,"

"Shall we begin getting ready then?"

Rosaline giggles excitedly.

They had set up a vanity area for the girls to get ready in the washroom. Rosaline started on curling Kendall's hair first.

"Do you think Anthony will ever ask me to marry him?"

Kendall gave Rosaline a look in the mirror.

"Sorry, all this wedding talk has made me excited,"

"Rosaline, Anthony loves you more than he loves betting on horses, and trust me, that is a lot."

"You really think so?"

"I know so, alright?"

"Alright, alright."

Realization hadn't hit Kendall yet.

It did right before the wedding.

She was giving herself away in an hour. Was love supposed to feel like that? Like you are giving yourself to someone else? As if you didn't own yourself anymore?

She was living in a fantasy, hoping that somehow she would get her happy ending. Was Eric not a happily ever after? Shouldn't he be?

These questions swirled around in her head.

Deep breaths, Kenny. You are just having wedding nerves. You can do this.

He wanted you to.

"Time to get to the church!" Aunt Anne called.

All the women that were in the manor came out of their rooms, dressed to perfection. Carriages were already lined up outside to take them. The last carriage was decorated with flowers for Kendall.

"Kendall, you look so beautiful!" Laurel said.

"Yes, so beautiful!" Her twin agreed.

"You ladies look beautiful as well,"

"Come, let's get to the carriage," Aunt Anne says.

"This is it," Rosaline sings, dressed and primped.

It was all a blur as they traveled to the beautiful church.

Kendall's head was in the clouds as she heard the music to begin the procession.

Her insides ached as the doors opened.

The church was full of people she didn't know, but spotted her family quickly. Uncle William had his grip on her arm tightly as he moved to escort her down the aisle.

She saw Rosaline, who motioned for her to smile. She did, and regained her thoughts.

She locked eyes with Eric, who was smiling ear to ear. Her dress dragged on the ground elegantly. The women in the crowd marveled over it as she made it to the alter.

"We are gathered here today to celebrate the holy matrimony of Miss Kendall Sullivan Vanderbilt and Mr. Eric Buckley."

The words went in one ear and out the other for Kendall. Saying the vows was easy, all she had to do was repeat what the minister said.

She snapped out of her trance when the priest said,

"Speak now or forever hold your peace."

The church fell silent. A pin dropping could be heard. Then, suddenly, a voice was sounded.

"Ya honor...."

All heads turned to the back of the church to see a smirking man.

"...I object."
