Terry's POV

We Autobots live a long time and I knew my time with Tessa was limited to her lifespan, but I decided to put that in the back of my processor as we drove from place to place looking for Decepticon activity.

Optimus and I had spoken over our spark-bond and we had grown even closer than we were before in my opinion. My father even confided in me that him and Ratchet were. . . let's just call them an "item" for lack of better terms. His embarrassment surged through the bond when he told me and I had to turn on my cooling fans as I heated up with embarrassment as well.

I had responded by telling him I was happy for him and he had sent a loving emotion back over the bond. It honestly rattled me with how the rest of the team was treating me like a porcelain doll; however, I knew they were just being protective of me and I allowed them to do it with no complaints.

Tessa on the other hand. . . She treated me just as she had before and I enjoyed cuddling up with her at night and how she traced idle patterns on my steering wheel whenever we went into a town to get food. When we had the opportunity to be completely alone from the rest of the team, I confess that we would partake in fierce intercourse. I would always ask her if she was alright with it before things got too crazy and she would always say that she was with one of her beautiful smiles to top it off.

We had a simple wedding and only the Autobots were there; however, it was the best day of my life no doubt. Tessa and I exchanged our vows and Bee, Ratchet, Ironhide, Prowl, and Jazz cheered as I drew Tessa against me for the kiss. My father then said some words of wisdom before I took my bride away to a beautiful cabin a few miles away for our honeymoon.

As we crossed the threshold of the simple cabin, I swept Tessa off her feet and I smirked as she squeaked in surprise. My voice softened as I said, "I love you, Tessa."

"I love you too, Terrance Orion Pax," She replied as she attacked the sweet spot on my neck suddenly. Her laughter filled my ears with heavily music as I nearly dropped her, "Please don't drop me, Terry!!"

My response was a fierce kiss to her lips and a low chuckle as I carried her off to the bedroom.

Tessa's POV

I woke in the morning wrapped in the safety of Terry's arms and I sighed in content. We had definitely sealed our bonds as spark mates after last night and I giggled as I imagined what poor Optimus must have felt through his bond with Terry.

My husband stirred just then and he yawned as he whispered, "Good morning, Tessa."

When I met his gaze, all I saw was his love and devotion, "Good morning to you too. . . I wonder what your father thought of our activities last night." Terry sat bolt upright as I said that and I laughed at his horrified expression saying, "You do know he needs the reason to jump Ratchet right?"

"That doesn't help, Tessa!" He said as he chuckled along with me and shook his head. Terry then slowly got out of bed and adorned a new outfit: a blue t-shirt, dark blue jeans, his combat boots, and his leather coat before he faced me again, "We need to get back to the others soon or else they will come here."

I nodded and shooed him out so I could get dressed in private. With my clothing adorned, I exited the cabin to see my husband standing a few steps away looking out at the open road.

He noticed me and sent a smile my way and I knew my life was going to be okay for the time being, but things have a way of changing and that was exactly what was going to happen to us.

Terry's POV

A few months had passed and things were uneventful. . . until Tessa shrieked like a banshee, "Stop right now!!"

I skidded to a stop on the side of the road and was instantly worried for Tessa as I saw how spooked she was. My holoform activated and I tried to calm her down, "What is it, Tessa? Are you hurt?!"

Her face suddenly lit up with a joyous expression and she placed my hand on her stomach. Something moved within her and she screamed again, "Terry! I think I'm pregnant!!"

The other Autobots surrounded us as they heard this over my radio and Ratchet was the most excited, "Oh, Optimus! What a wonderful occurrence don't you think?"

My father smiled across our bond, "I think it is, Ratchet. Now we will have even more reason to protect Tessa from harm."

Tessa hugged me around my neck and I hugged her back tenderly. I'm going to be a father! That sentence ran dizzying circles through my head as we slowly got back onto the road again.

I personally wished that Optimus had warned me about how picky a pregnant woman could be, but I tried as best I could to make my pregnant wife comfortable.

During our many travels across the world, a younger scout joined our rag-tag team. His name was Cliffjumper and we Autobots welcomed him gladly since our numbers were small already. He turned out to be quite a charmer and I felt jealousy creep into my spark on several occasions when I left Tessa in his company for too long. The youngster would always surrender to me and say, "I wouldn't dare try to steal her from you, Orion. You really think I'd do something like that when I don't even stand a chance against you in a fight?"

I smirked every time and stated, "I'm your superior and the son of a Prime, Cliff. . . I could kick your aft with my servos tied behind me."

Tessa chuckled as she watched us both fight over her and carefully stepped between us when we looked too serious, "Now, Terry. . . You don't want to scare our unborn child now, hmm?"

That got my attention every time and I instantly began to worry about how I would do as a father.

My own father, Optimus, had only been in my life for several years now and I hadn't really had a chance to speak with him one-on-one about what it was like to be a father. Would I do well? Will my child love me with all of my flaws like I love my own father? Will he/she be afraid of what I am? All of these questions and more would fly through my head as I tried in vain to get some sleep at night. They shook me to the core and I felt my spark fluttering as the day came closer and closer for my child to be born.

Ironhide pulled me aside one morning and said, "I know you'll make a wonderful father, Orion. You clearly have the spark for the task and the devotion to remain by the sparkling's side through all his, or her, days."

"Thanks, Hide. . . I just hope that I don't scare my child with what I truly am. . ." My eyes found Tessa and I watched her talking with Prowl quietly for a moment before speaking again, "I just pray to Primus that my child doesn't have to go through the pain I've gone through. . ."

"I know that your sparkling will never have those worries."

I looked at Ironhide with raised eyebrows, "How?"

He smiled at me and chuckled, "For one, you won't allow anyone to harm him. Secondly, your mother has natural maternal instincts and she will be there for your child when the kid needs someone. So will you, of course!!"

My response died on my tongue as I heard Tessa cry out, "Terry! It's time!!"

We all jumped into action and I drove to he nearest hospital with a fluttering spark. Primus, please guard Tessa and the child through this time to come. . .
