Benny's Pov:

My whole body felt in pain, my head was pounding but there was warmth surrounding me. Making me feel safe and calm for the meantime. And for that small instant I was back. I was back to when my mom used to hold me tightly in her arms whenever I had nightmares. Singing me to sleep, tell me that I was safe and sound and nothing, absolutely nothing was going to happen to them or me. Then my dad would go and scare the monsters away. But the monsters won this time.

The monsters took over our house and now at sixteen I was alone. But Ash was here with me. Him being thirteen and he was more strong willed than me. I felt childish, weak and .... Small. Ash was strong and he takes care of me. I should be the one taking care of him. But we were in it together. From now until we found a way out.

But now there was rumors that were going around.

And by going around I mean, I have been going around from bed to bed and to make it worth it I made these greasy, pigs talk. "Joseph is stepping down and his son Matthew is taking over. Now shut up and suck."

I gagged.

"Matthew is twenty-three... *grunts* he's going to be pathetic-"

I cried.

They were all drunken bastards who are probably the worst followers. Giving out all these secrets that were meant to be kept secrets.

Both Ash and myself wondered how we would go about it to see if Matthew would be worse than his father himself. There was no possible way we would be able to survive if that was the case. I would rather die now than see how worse his son could be.

"Benny.. You awake?" I open my eyes to see Ash looking at me with wide eyes. "I thought you were dead."

"I survived.." I spoke, my voice raspy from all the screaming I had done the night before. "But I wish I hadn't."

"Don't say that. You aren't leaving me in this hellhole."

"Wouldn't dream of it." I responded sitting up, already used to the pains I always get all over my body. "Did they drop any food down?" I asked. "Water?"

"Yeah, I managed to get two water bottles." Ash pulled it out from under the blanket and handed it to me. I opened it and took a small sip. Closing it and tucking it away again. We needed it to save it in case.

"Ash... Tomorrow the new Alpha comes. He was part of the murder of our families. What if he is worse.. More cruel and angrier than Alpha Joseph."

"We will find a way to deal with it. We survived three years, we will manage the next few days or months. But we won't stay here any longer. I am hoping... these nights are getting longer as they pass by. I feel as if I will not make it one of these nights. I'm scared and I just can't handle it." Ash confessed. Hugging me tighter, even though it hurt I let him do as he wished. Ash was still younger than me and needed to understand that I would protect him despite the cost it.

"It'll be okay.. I promise." I almost cringed at the promise part but it's what he needed to hear and I wanted to reassure him that it will be fine and I will be here no matter what.

"We have to get the wood for winter. It's getting cooler down here and they told us that once winter comes we are on our own." Ash was wanting to change the subject, me as well. It was also true, Alpha had told us that if we freeze to death than it is our fault. So he gave us permission to go out and gather wood to bring down to the basement so we can start a fire in the fire pit. Our wolves were not enough to keep us warm. We learned the hard way when a girl froze to death, she had just not cared. It was too painful for her to continue living this way. It was a painful suicide.

We couldn't do anything about it but try for ourselves to not die.

"We have free time since Alpha and the others are preparing for Matthew to come. We should get going while the sun is still out. " I could not have agreed more. In a painful groan I got up from the floor and waited for him to get up as well. My legs were shaky but I managed to walk.

"We are going to get wood." We stood in front of the Alpha.

"Remember. There are wolves everywhere, one wrong move and they will kill you both without a second thought." With that we were allowed to step outside into the coldness.

Small snowflakes were falling from the sky, we quickly made our way towards where we chop the wood up and we find some of it already chopped. The place where we had came to was a clearing a few miles away from the house. This is where they chopped wood and we were allowed to chop our own, in order for them not to lose their slaves to the cold. But it will not last us all winter. We had to get down to work. I went towards a pile of already cut small trees and tried to pick up a piece-

"Shit a bear. Do not move... it's smelling you." My werewolf senses were lacking obviously.

"Shit run," but before I could react the thing slashed its claws into my back, throwing me to the ground. I let out a silent scream about to faint until suddenly I was on the ground but the bear had fallen right next to me in a blur with a giant bite mark to it's neck. I am sure Ash would have not been able to do that.

Thank you guys for being patient, I really really am happy. !!! Tell me what you think
