I woke up and was immediately shocked by Sean, we went to sleep but it looked exactly the same in the sky. There was no sun, no moon, just darkness.
Shockwave was obviously a dangerous force but I refuse to believe that Kent was the leader, there had to be some kind of thing stopping him from believing this. After all, someone had to have erased his memory and if they did, why would they do it?
"Hey, Ed?" Sean started, his voice scared me for a few minutes and I looked straight up for some reason.
"Yes, Sean." I said, staring at him for a while trying to focus in on his face.
"I have this idea but it's kind of dangerous," he said.
"Dangerous? What is it?" I replied, we paused for a second as a guard walked by us.
"If this has to do with something out of hand I don't think I can do this."
"Ok,Ed, just listen to what I'm going to say. If we took out two of those guards and maybe took their keycards we could escape," Sean said.
"But escape from where exactly?" I asked. He shrugged his shoulders and pointed to the cell lock.
"Try examine the lock, maybe we can use it for something," he said.
"What should I look for?" I asked him.
"Try see if there is a keypad or keycard thing," he replied.
I heard another guard come by the cell and I jumped to the dirty floor. The room was very small and we only had sleeping bags and a pillow. If we needed to pee, we had to use the floor or if we were lucky, use the bucket they'd sometimes provide. A guard, this time, walked up to our cell with a girl dragging along the floor and threw her in our cell. The guard walked away and the girl started to breathe heavily.
"He-hey, y-y-yo-you guys got.....some water?" She asked.
"Only this but-..."
She took the water immediately and drank every last drop of it
"Thanks for that," she continued.
"Who are you?" I asked her.
"My name is Jane, Jane Lawfield," she answered.
"You won't believe what just happened,"
"I tried to escape and my plan was to steal a keycard, get to the main reception and disguise as a guard to leave. But that didn't exactly work out very well. They were too strong."
"But why did you get put in here?" Sean asked.
"This is solitary right?" She asked.
"Wait what?" I replied.
"Since when is this solitary?"
"Since always, come on guys catch up. How do you not know this?" She asked.
"But why would we get put into solitary?" Sean asked her.
"Because you two both are to be watched because crazy guy here seems to think that that Kent guy is his brother." She said, this frustrated me more than ever.
"I am his brother. That's why I'm called Edward Shadows and he's called Kent Shadows," I said back.
Another guard walked past our cell and looked for a while until pressing a button. This button dropped three trays of food down and we started to eat.
"If you are his brother then explain why you two haven't seen each other in so long," she asked.
"One day, I was with my m...mother and a man called Mr.Turner came to our door. He asked for Kent and my mum was hesitant at first but she let him go with the man," I said
"It was quite a sad day because he was the only thing close to my father that I had apart from my mother."
"What happened to your mother?" She asked.
"Dead," I replied.
"What about the rest of your family, aunts, uncles, cousins, any other relatives?" She asked.
"They all died, all of them, my uncle, Sean's dad was killed by Nicolas, he was a criminal in my town and other towns," I said with a wavering voice. I put my head down and I shed one tear. Jane wiped the tear from my eye and told me that it was ok. I had no family left, my mother was dead, my uncle was dead, my father missing and my brother's memory wiped. Jane gave me a hug and continued drinking her water.
"So, Ed, it seems like our escape plan is out the cell window," Sean said.
"We can't take out three guards and we can't take out 2 but maybe just maybe if we tried we could take out 1 together and one of us would escape and keep the door open for long enough to get out of here," I suggested.
"If one of us gets out then we will be hunted down faster than we know," Jane said.
"OK, what if we steal a radio and a keycard and take out the guard. Leave then tell the guards on the radio to report to Kent," Jane suggested.
"That seems like a good plan, Edward?" Sean said and looked directly at me.
"Let's do it. But who's going to do what? We need to take out the guard together but they don't seem to have radios on them," I stated.
"There is a radio block on the east section of the jail. If one of us can make it there and back we might have a big chance of escaping without anyone knowing," Jane said.
"We all agree on this?" I asked.
"Yes!" We all said I'm unison.
"We can't do this today because the radios are disabled but tomorrow they are up and working for sure," Sean said.
"Wait, how do you know?" I asked him.
"When we got taken here I saw a radio table and it said the days when they are on and off. We can't manually turn them on but now we have a plan for tomorrow," he said.
I ate my last piece of bread and everyone had finished way before I had but I was not finished at all. I ate and ate until I was finished and a guard came, looked again, pressed the button and our food trays went up again. Now we have an amazing plan, we just have to put it into action.
