We all climbed out of Kalea's Jeep with our stuff, ready to spend the night at Mallie's house.
I was really excited. I haven't had a sleepover with my friends for a long time, ever since my family did so much traveling last summer.
Mallie unlocked the front door of her house and let us all in.
We all walked past the kitchen to see Mallie's mom sitting at her breakfast bar, working on her computer. I watched her turn her head and glared at Mallie. Mallie rushes us down the hallway and into her room. She shut the door behind her quickly.
Mallie's room looked the same as usual. The white walls had the same album covers and band posters on them, her bed still had the same galaxy bed sheets, and her black and white desk still had different sketches of different costumes ideas on it. The window in her room looked into her backyard, which was always very uneventful. The white closet doors were shut.
"I like your room Mallie!" Kalea exclaimed as she looked at all of Mallie's posters.
"Oh, thanks," Mallie exclaimed. The posters ranged from Pentatonix to Dan and Phil to Hamilton. Kalea seemed very fond of the Hamilton poster, while Dan stroked the picture of Dan on the Dan and Phil poster.
"Oh my God Dan, control yourself," I exclaimed as Dan quickly moved her hand away from the poster.
"It's not my fault he's so pretty," Dan exclaimed. I scoffed.
"Anyway, what do you guys want to do? I have some board games we could play, or we could-" Mallie began until Dan interrupted her.
"Can we get a snack?" I'm kind of hungry," Dan asked.
"Um, sure! I will go get some snacks," Mallie said as she walked out of her room, leaving the door slightly shut.
"So, are you excited for this year Kalea?" I asked Kalea as she sat down on the floor of Mallie's room.
"Yeah! I can't wait to start rehearsing!" Kalea said when Mallie came back into the room, shutting the door all the way behind her this time.
"So I got some crackers and cheese, just enough for the three of you," Mallie said as she put a plate down in front of us. We all sat down around the plate and began eating.
"Um, do you guys want to play a game? Like truth or dare?" Mallie offered.
"Oh I love truth or dare! Can we play it?" Kalea asked. Dan and I nodded, and Mallie did as well.
"Can I start?" I asked. The rest of the group nodded.
"Okay, Kalea. Truth or Dare?" I asked Kalea as she ate a slice of cheese.
"Truth," she said just as she swallowed her slice of cheese.
"Do you have a crush on Grant?" I asked.
"What?! N-no, I don't," she responded.
Dan raised her perfectly filled in eyebrow at Kalea.
"Okay, he's kind of cute," she responded, blushing a bit.
"Oooooooo, somebody has a crush!" I exclaimed. Mallie slightly smiled and Dan giggled.
"When you do have your 'study' date with Grant, make sure to tell us all about it," I requested, using finger quotes around the word "study".
"I can guarantee you that we are only going to study together and nothing more," Kalea "ensured" us.
"Okay love bird, it's your turn," Dan told her. Kalea glared at Dan. Dan smiled.
"Mallie, truth or dare?" Kalea asked Mallie.
"Um, truth," Mallie said.
"Do you have a crush on anybody?" Kalea innocently asked her.
"Uh, no," Mallie simply answered as she fidgeted her fingers.
"You always say that, you have gotten to fallen for someone by now," Dan exclaimed as she ate a cracker, with some crumbs falling out of her mouth as she spoke.
"I guess nobody has caught my eye yet," Mallie told us.
"Dan, truth or dare?" Mallie asked Dan.
"Dare AF," Dan almost shouted.
"Okay, I dare you to prank call Trinity," Mallie requested.
"Hells yeah!" Dan exclaimed happily as she pulled out her phone and typed in Trinity's phone number, making sure to include the star and the 67 so Dan's name won't show up on caller ID. She hit call and waited for her to pick up.
"Hi! Trinity Jones here, can I help you?" Trinity said into the phone. I could see Dan slightly cringe at her introduction.
"HI MY NAME IS MR. SMITH AND I HAVE A MESSAGE FOR YOU," Dan shouted in a deep voice into her phone.
"Okay, what is it?" Trinity asked, sounding somewhat confused.
"DO YOU HAVE ANY CONDITIONS? BECAUSE I DO. I REALLY LIKE TURTLES. I OWN FIVE," Dan shouted. Kalea tried her best to hold her laughter in.
We heard Trinity hang up from the other line. We all burst out laughing, except for Mallie, who only released a few giggles.
"THAT WAS AMAZING DAN!" Kalea laughed as she leaned into Dan smiling brightly.

It was starting to get really late, almost midnight. We all had rolled our sleeping bags out and were making small talk with each other. Kalea was trying to get to know each of us more so we could become better friends.
"Favorite holiday?" Kalea asked us.
The three of us said "Halloween" all at the same time.
"Hm, why do you like it so much?" Kalea questioned.
"I like to make my own costumes each year. It's just so much fun for me to come up with ideas, I guess," Mallie explained.
"Me too, it's also a very spooky time of year and I love it," Dan said. I nodded in agreement.
After we talked some more, we heard Dan snoring and cuddling up to her pillow.
"Well I guess we should sleep. Goodnight Mal, night Lana," Kalea said as she slipped into her sleeping bag and shut her eyes. Mallie did the same and she set her phone down on her nightstand.
"Night guys."
