Scene 8 Act 1

{Kalea}

I was extremely excited for today. Why you may ask? Well, I arranged for Luka, Lana, Dan, Jay, and Grant and I for us all to go on a triple date today!

I have everything planned out: we would go get pizza for lunch, then we would go hang out at a park together.

Grant offered to pick us all up today, and I let him. I would just have to guide him on where to go.

I was putting some flats on to complement my outfit when I heard the doorbell ring. I grabbed my peach colored purse and quickly ran downstairs to get the door.

I opened the door to reveal Grant, who was wearing some simple jeans a sweater that kind of looked like a potato sack (it looked great on him though), and some white vans.

"Hey," I said just before he stole a kiss from me. I blushed and followed him into the car.

I sat in the passenger's seat and Grant sat in the Driver's seat. Lana had her head resting on Luka's shoulder, and Dan was sitting on Jay's lap, as there wasn't enough room for Dan to sit anyway, but I don't think she was complaining.

"Hi guys!" I happily greeted my friends as I shut the car door next to me. '

"Hey Kalea!" Dan exclaimed as I turned around to look at her. Lana waved at me.

"Alright, our first stop is pizza!" I exclaimed happily, excited for the rest of the day.

Lana and I sang the lyrics to our favorite Broadway songs on our way to the way to get pizza. Every so often, Grant would gaze at me in awe, I think. I would smile back at him.

Grant parked just outside of the small pizza shop, they same one that I went to with Mallie, Dan, and Lana when we first became friends.

We all hopped out of Grant's car and Grant held the door for open for all of us. We walked in together as we all sat down at a booth.

"What kind of pizza should we get? Pepperoni? Combo?" Grant asked us. We all shouted "Combo!" at the same time, and we burst out into laughter.

"Okay, combo it is. I will go order it and I will get us all waters," Grant offered as he stood up, resting his hand on my shoulder before walking off.

"Thanks for inviting us to this, Kalea," Lana exclaimed. Luka nodded in agreement.

"I've actually never taken Dan out on a date before," Jay confessed, blushing.

"What? How come?" Lana questioned.

"I was scared of being caught with my girlfriend in public; they are super strict about me having a girlfriend," Jay responded.

"This time is a special occasion though as Jay's parents are out of town this week," Dan explained as Grant came back with all of our waters on a tray.

"Do you work here now?" I asked, jokingly. He chuckled as he passed our waters out.

"No, the woman working behind the counter let me use one," Grant explained.

He brought the tray back and sat back down next to me. Lana took a few sips of water.

"So, how are rehearsals going?" Luka asked Lana, Dan, and I.

"Okay," Dan begun, "Trinity is being really annoying though."

"Oh is she?" Jay curiously asked.

"Yup. She is being SO picky with what Mallie and I want her to wear. Also, her outfits in general are disgusting," Dan expressed.

"Wow, someone's salty today," Jay exclaimed.

"Do you know who I am? I'm salty 25/8, and that's not even possible," Dan shot back. Jay threw his hands up in defeat.

We kept talking for a bit about rehearsals until our pizza came, along with six plates.  Lana was the first to get pizza, taking two pieces and immediately began eating one. The rest of us started out with one piece.

"You guys are going to watch our production of Picnic right?" I asked, not sure if they were going to or not.

"Um, of course we are! We wouldn't miss it for the world," Grant exclaimed. Luka and Jay nodded in agreement. I smiled.

"I CALL DIBS ON THE SWINGS!!!!" Jay and Dan shouted as the ran out Grant's car and into the park, jumping on the swings.

Lana and Luka climbed out of the car, with Luka holding a camera in his hands. I followed them out of the car and into the park, holding Grant's hand.

Lana climbed up onto one of the tall play structures and Luka started taking candid photos of her. Lana didn't notice until she went down the slide and looked over at her boyfriend, making a funny face. Luka laughed and walked over to Lana to show her the pictures.

Jay and Dan were both swinging at different speeds, yet they were both holding hands, causing both of them to trash around in their swings. Dan and Jay were both laughing uncontrollably.

"Guys! Let's take a selfie!" Grant offered. Lana and Luke quickly walked over to us as Grant pulled out his phone. Dan and Jay both jumped off of their swings (which were still moving violently) and Dan almost fell while running over to us.

For the picture, Dan got on Jay's back piggyback style and Jay crouched down low so both of them could be in the frame of the picture. Lana subtlety put her arm around Luka's waist, but her arm placement wasn't visible, as Grant was standing right in front of where Lana put her arm. Grant gave a sweet smile to the camera, and I put my right hand on the left side of his face and I kissed his right cheek. Grant took the picture and we all pulled away, with Dan jumping off of Jay's back.

"I will make sure to tag all of you guys on Instagram," Grant said, looking back down at his phone.

I looked at what was happening around me.

My friends and their boyfriends at a park.

Me with my friends and my boyfriend.

I've been wanting this for so long.

I finally feel satisfied.
