It was a shock when Mallie arrived to lunch with pastel pink hair instead of her regular red color.
I mean, it definitely matches her current aesthetic, yes, but she's had her hair dyed dark red to light red ever since eighth grade.
I guess she thought it was time for a change.
"What did you do to your hair?!" Dan jokingly questioned. Mallie giggled.
"Um, I dyed it pink?" Mallie asked, sitting down next to Kalea. Mallie was wearing a pink skirt that went down just above her knees with a white shirt with puffed up sleeves with pink stripes on the sleeves, and a giant bow across the chest. She was wearing the same shoes she wore on Halloween, the blocky pink heels.
Dan has never been a fan of light colors, I know that for sure, and she has loved Mallie's old hair color ever since she first dyed it.
"I really like how it turned out Mallie! You look so good!" Kalea exclaimed. I nodded in agreement.
"Aw thanks guys!" Mallie said, opening her lunchbox to start eating.
"Anyway, I'm really excited for rehearsal today," I exclaim.
"You always are excited," Dan mentioned.
"Yeah, I know, but today we get to talk about the Winter Sonnet and where we are holding it for our play!" I reminded my friends.
"Oh yeah! I wonder where we are going to hold the Winter Sonnet," Kalea pondered, sounding excited as well.
We continued lunch in excitement for the end of the day. Everyone else in the lunchroom looked very gloomy compared to us, as we were brightly talking about our first play of the year, like there is no tomorrow.
----------
We had just finished a run-through of the entire play. Our costumes fit perfectly thanks to Dan and Mallie, and everyone remembered all of their lines, thankfully. Trinity wasn't as stuck up as she usually is, which shocked me. Probably because Damian was watching us preform, and if Trinity did anything to publicly embarrass anybody, Damian would kick her out of the club.
At this point, we were all sitting on the stage, still in costume. Mallie and Dan had joined us, sitting in a circle with Kalea and I.
"Alright everyone, now I would like for us to focus on the Winter Sonnet next week," Damian began, turning to face everyone on the stage. My friends and I all looked at each other in excitement, and then we turned back around to face Damian.
"Alright, so the reason why we are preforming this play is for the Winter Sonnet that will take place next Friday. Now, we have planned for this to be a big event that occurs a bit before the semester ends, and we have decided to have the Winter Sonnet to take place at the Hawkins Community College. There, they have a much bigger theater for us to perform, and more room for the other events planned for the Winter Sonnet," Damian began.
"Now, you all will need to arrive at the Hawkins Community College at noon, which gives us two hours to practice and make any final changes before the Winter Sonnet begins. Mr. Lawrence, the drama teacher here, will make sure to email all of your sixth period teachers so that they know to excuse you at the proper time."
"Unfortunately, the school needs all of our buses to transport all of the other students to the Winter Sonnet at two, so you will need to find your own way of transportation. It doesn't matter how you get there, but you need to be there. Whether you are on the cast or the crew. Does anybody have any questions?" Damian asked, finishing his explanation of what will happen next week. Nobody raised their hands.
"Alright, perfect. You all are free to go, please change out of your costumes and leave them in your dressing room," Damian instructed as we all stood up and the cast went to go change and the crew started to go home, Except for Mallie and Dan, who were kind enough to wait for us.
Well, Kalea was their ride anyway. They didn't have a choice.

I was sitting at home on a four way Skype conversation with Kalea, Dan, and Mallie. We were talking about next week. Mostly how excited we were.
"I can't believe we have been working so hard for the past three months all for next week," Kalea exclaimed through my computer.
"I know right? It's so crazy, especially since Trinity actually got a role," Mallie acknowledged as she painted her nails a pastel pink color.
"I'm honestly so shocked that she got a role. A lead role, even," I exclaimed to my friends.
"Honestly, same," Dan agreed.
"She is a terrible actor. You've seen her act, right Mallie?" I asked.
"Oh yeah. It's terrible," Mallie agreed. Kalea laughed.
"I couldn't agree more," Dan exclaimed.
"Okay, I know this is really random and cheesy, but I'm really happy that I met you guys this year," Kalea confessed.
"Aw, we are happy we met you too girl! You are awesome!" Dan replied.
"Yeah! You are such a great friend. I'm really glad your parents decided to move here," Mallie exclaimed happily.
"I'm glad too Kalea, you are an amazing friend," I agreed. Kalea was blushing.
"You guys are too nice!" Kalea mentioned.
"Did you have friends as amazing as us in Hawaii?" Dan asked. Mallie and I laughed. Kalea let out some giggles.
"I had a few close friends, but they eventually stopped talking to me. I did have some really good memories down there though," Kalea told us.
"How come they abandoned you?" Mallie questioned.
"I'm not sure exactly. I used to talk to them daily, then they just kinda started to slip away from me, I guess. Slowly, they stopped talking to me as much as they would before. They I didn't even hear from them at all."
"Well it's their loss for stop talking to you," Dan exclaimed, and Kalea and Mallie giggled. I smiled at my friends through my artificially lit computer screen.
