It was about eleven in the morning now. Mallie snuck us some food from the kitchen about an hour ago, and I was still snacking on a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It's not my fault that I'm always craving sugary foods.
Kalea and Lana were sitting on Mallie's bed, showing each other things they see on Tumblr, and Mallie was on her phone as well, but I wasn't sure what she was doing. She seemed focused.
I poured some more cereal into my mouth when I saw Kalea's face go from a soft smile to a shocked look.
"Kalea? You okay?" I asked her, setting the cereal box down on the ground next to me.
"Y-yeah, I just forgot that I had to study with Grant today," she replied. I had forgotten as well.
"How could you forget a study date with one of the most hottest guys in school?" Lana exclaimed, almost throwing her phone across the room. Or I thought she was going to. It looked like she was about to chuck her phone and it would bash against the wall next to me.
"I don't know! I guess I was having so much fun here," Kalea confessed.
Lana snatched Kalea's phone out of her hands. Kalea tried to grab it back, but failed to do so, as Lana held a firm grip onto Kalea's phone. Eventually, Lana tossed her phone back into Kalea's grasp. Kalea looked at her phone for a few seconds and gasped at Lana.
"Why did you do that?" Kalea shouted as her phone chimed. A text from Grant, probably.
"Great, now I have to go over in thirty minutes and I look like a hot mess! What am I going do to?" Kalea questioned, sounding stressed. How cliché of her.
"Well, we can get you ready for the day! Mallie and Dan can pick out your outfit, and I can do your hair and makeup!" Lana offered, smiling.
"Oh my God that sounds like so much fun! Let's get to work!" I exclaim.
We all stand up with Mallie finally putting down her phone. Lana walked over to Mallie's desk and turned the chair so the back was facing the desk. Lana walked over to her bag and grabbed her large makeup bag and dumped all of it's contents onto Mallie's desk. It ranged from foundation to eyeliner to the most sparkly highlighter that I have ever seen. Kalea sat down in the chair as Lana started at her face, probably trying to come up with the best look for Kalea.
Mallie and I walked over to Mallie's closet and opened it up to reveal many pastel items of clothing.
"Why do you own such light colors?" I asked Mallie.
"Uh, because I enjoy pastels?" she responded.
"Well, okay then, Ms. Not-So-Emo-Anymore," I exclaimed and started to look for something that wasn't as bright as the rest of her wardrobe. Mallie scoffed at me, and started looking for clothes, too.
"Remember ladies, this is a study date, not prom night. We wait for prom night to go all out," Mallie mentioned, as she quickly took two neutral colored shirts and set them on the ground near her feet for possible shirt options.
Lana sighed. "So no glittery highlighter?"
"Just because you wear it everyday doesn't mean that it's appropriate for a first date," I exclaimed.
"Well, I say that you should go bold every time. Yes to glittery highlighter," Lana announced as she finished applying foundation to Kalea's face. I sighed.
"Kalea, do you want a more neutral look with neutral colors? Like a modern day look that all those Instagram models would wear on a daily basis?" Mallie questioned.
