Ya'll know it ain't like me to not update in 2 DAMN MONTHS! So I'd like to apologize. School been whoopin my ass and I just couldn't find the time but ya girl is back now! Expect another update soon! -Bailey

It was ten o'clock at night as I sat on the edge of my bed staring at the wall. All day since I left the hospital I couldn't stop thinking about what Lisa had on me. She could single-handedly take down my entire relationship with Chresanto. And at what cost? Another man's innocence? It wasn't a question that what Devin did to Chresanto was wrong. I knew that much but he had still managed to protect Deon and I while Chresanto was locked up. Surely that had earned him some mercy points. But in the end, I decided that my family was more important than any moral values I may have had.

Just then, I heard a door open downstairs. What the hell? I grabbed the Ruger that Chresanto kept under his pillow and made my way to the door. Normally, I hated guns and would do anything to avoid any contact with them. In fact, Chresanto and I got into a big fight while I was pregnant over the fact that he slept with one under his pillow. I thought it was unnecessary and dangerous. What if he thought there was an intruder in our room but it was really just me getting up to use the bathroom? Or what if it went off and hurt one of us? But he wouldn't budge as he insisted that there have been instances when having a gun handy saved his life  and there would surely be more. So I figured I may as well learn how to use one and he taught me.

I turned off the safety and walked out of my room slowly making my way over to where I heard rustling. It finally led me to the laundry room. Who the hell would break in here at ten o'clock at night just to raid my laundry room? I flicked on the light to see Miss Mabel bent over looking through a basket of clothes. I lowered my gun as she looked at the gun then me raising a brow.

"Damn it, Mabel" I exhaled. "What the hell are you doing here so late?"

"I lost my necklace" she said turning her attention back to the laundry basket. "Lionel gave it to me on our anniversary and now I can't find the damn thing"

I knew which one she was talking about too. It was a locket in the shape of a teddy bear. It was a locket in the shape of a teddy bear and inside was a picture of her and her late husband on their wedding day. She looked stunning as she wore her hair in a perfect bun with her veil flipped behind her. Lionel was wearing a white tuxedo and he had his long dreads in a big bun on top of his head. He had kind eyes and a nice smile in spite of his two crooked teeth in the front. Mabel looked like she was panicking a little bit over finding this necklace. It was crazy how he's been dead all of these years and still had such an effect on her.

"It's on the table in the living room. I found it in Deon's room. You know how he likes to put everything in his mouth"

Miss Mabel exhaled in relief.

"Thank you" she said.

Then she looked closely at my face.

"You ok? You look about ready to jump off a cliff" she asked pointing at my face.

I hated how observant this woman was. I shook my head.

"The lawyer knows" I said leaning up against the wall.

"Lisa? She knows about you and Devin?"

I nodded.

"How? I thought you wiped everything out"

"I missed a video...the worst one. Now she's blackmailing me"

"With what?"

"She has some plan to get Devin convicted of all of Chresanto's charges which would give Chres his freedom faster. I would have to get on oard in order for it to work out but I don't want to. He's innocent, Mabel. I can't put that kind of jail time on him. But Lisa says if I don't-"
