Tris's POV

"Lauren this is Matthew, Cameron, Nash, Aaron, Carter, Taylor, Jack J, Jack G and Shawn" I say pointing to all of the guys.

"Hey" she says shyly. She's usually never this shy I'm not sure why she's acting like that.

"So we're going upstairs now" I say dragging Lauren behind me.

I see Shawn give Laur a glance but I ignore it and we go into my room.

"So now I can see why you needed a break" she laughs breaking the awkward science.

"Yeah but it hasn't been that bad but being with all boys, even for a couple of hours can be tiring" I shrug.

"Yeah I understand, living with Kian and JC hasn't been all that and a bag of chips either" she says.

"Yeah it's just boys in general. They are idiots" I laugh.

"True, so, wanna do something?" She asks.

"We could post a cover. Or sing one of my own songs...I've been working on depleting and need some feedback" I say hesitantly.

Nobody knows that I write lyrics, I don't just write to my future self in that book.

"You write songs still? I know you used to do it when you were little" she says shocked.

"Yep. So what do you say?" I ask, she nods her head frantically and I pull out my journal, flip to the page and hand it
to her.

She reads over it.

"Tris this is amazing. You really should
think about signing to a record label. You'd get tones of offers" she hands the book back to me.

"Maybe one day" I shrug.

Shawn's POV

I can't believe Lauren is here. I mean I shouldn't care and I don't, I love Tris.

We aren't even dating.

No. Neither is Lauren and I, she left me and that's it. I didn't even know she knew Tris.

She never told me but then again I didn't know Tris at the time.

I need to sneak Lauren away from Tris so I can talk to her alone.

But not right now. Soon.

"Dude that lauren girl- she's pretty hot" Carter says.

They are now playing the video game again but I'm in the kitchen and my mind keeps wandering off.

"She was alright" Matt whispers.

I know why he said that, he likes Tris. He's not that great at hiding things as he thinks.

I roll my eyes and decide to walk up to my room.

I walk up the stairs but a voice stops me before I enter my room.

It's Tris and Lauren in Tris's room.

She's singing. Tris is an amazing singer but I've never heard this song before.

I put my ear close to the door and listen to her sing.

She continues to sing but then stops.

"So, what do you think?" She asks who I'm assuming Lauren.

"You wrote this?? It's amazing. I always knew my bestfriend would become an amazing singer" lauren squeals.

Tris wrote that? I only heard a bit of it and I already know it's amazing. I didn't know she wrote songs, I only knew she wrote to her future self.
