It's been nearly a week since I've seen Jack. We went to the Halloween store and discussed the many options we had for our costumes.
But it's like he's disappeared.
I've been trying to keep my cool so as to not spark anything inside of Pam's little head but my patience is running thin.
The more the days go by the more I start to worry.
I decide to bring him up in conversation with Harvey.
I walk through the crowds of students in the cafeteria until I find the couple.
"Hey guys" I smile and sit down next to Pam.
Harvey nods and continues eating while Pam turns herself to me.
"Do you know what you're going to do for the assignment?" She asks and I shrug.
"Probably the Internet thing. It's the easiest" her face is full of disgust and I roll my eyes.
"I'm sorry Ms. Isley that not everyone cares about the environment" I snicker and she groans.
"What a useless generation" she mumbles under her breath and I scoff.
"You seem to forget that you too are also part of this 'useless generation'" I use air quotations around the insult she just said.
"Whatever. I don't count" she flips her hair over her shoulder and I have a sudden urge to pull on it.
"So..did you guys decide on a costume yet?" I ask but they both shake their head.
"You?" Harvey asks and Pam turns her head at that.
I was initially supposed to be matching with Jack so I'm not exactly sure whether he already spilled about his costume.
"It's a surprise" I smile and she nods.
"Good or bad?" I look at her confused.
"Is it good or bad? The costume itself"
"Oh..depends how you see it" I tell her before taking a rice crispy out of my bag.
"Speaking of costumes and such, where's uh-where Jack?" I ask nonchalantly and Pam glares at me.
"What? Is it a crime to want to know where he is?" I whisper to her but Harvey interrupts.
"He hasn't been feeling well. He said he's at home sick. You should drop by, make him feel better" his eyebrows dance on his forehead suggesting something more then just taking care of Jack.
"Great idea Harv! I'll do just that" I finish off my sugary treat before standing up.
Pam grabs a hold of my hand and brings me down to her.
"I swear to you Harley I will call the police as soon as you step out of this cafeteria" she threatens and I quickly rip my arm out of her grip and grab a hold of her forearm. I twist it on a way that if the slightest pressure were added I could snap her bone in half.
I chuckle and give her a little smile at the pained face she makes.
"And I swear to you Pam that if you keep threatening me I will break every bone in your body so you can't help those little plants of yours. I'll sit you down in your couch and you can watch them decay right before your very eyes. So please. Leave. Me. Alone." I shove her arm away and start to walk out of the cafe.
"I'm trying to help you" she yells and I turn around on my heels.
"That's nice. I'm just trying to be friendly by visiting my sick boyfriend-oops did I say boyfriend? I meant my sick friend" I smirk before walking away.
That bitch is really getting on my nerves.
