Devil In Me by Halsey
It's been a good two weeks since Christmas break, very easy going. I've barely had any run ins with Jack and for that i'm grateful. The last thing I need is to get tangled up with him.
Right now I sit in Physics ready to blow my brains out. Why did I take this course? Couldn't tell you for the life of me.
The teacher is currently writing a few notes on the board that could possibly benefit me in the upcoming quiz but instead my head falls from my palm and onto my arm that is laid on the desk surface.
"Kill me now" I whisper into my sleeve. A few minutes roll by and I awaken from my deep nap to the feeling of someone's fingertips tapping my shoulder.
I sit up straight, startled, fearing that my teacher has caught me taking a nap during class but thankfully it's not him. Instead it's a classmate that seems familiar but I don't exactly remember their name. I nod my head and give him a small smile.
He nods towards the door where I spot Pam leaning against a few lockers. She notices my stare and signals for me to come outside.
I look to the front of the class to see my teacher flipping through his textbook.
"Sir, may I go to the washroom?" he sighs but nods before returning his attention back to the writing before him.
I scurry out of the class and hook my arm around Pam's.
"Thank god you came, it is so boring in there" she chuckles and shakes my arm.
"Well, you see how we're seniors now? Meaning it's our last year?" I nod and she stops walking once we turn the corner.
She rips a piece of paper from the wall and holds it behind her back. "What do you think about being on the cheerleading squad?" she gushed and shoves the bright pink paper into my face.
I take it into my hands and give it a once over.
"Yeah no there's no way" I press the paper against her chest and continue to walk the other way.
"Oh come on Harley, it's our last year and i've always wanted to do this" I shrug my shoulders.
"Go ahead Pammy I ain't gonna stop you but you're crazy if you think I'm going to tryout to be in a squad directed by Barbara Gordon!" I tell her and she groans.
"Who cares if she's captain? Haven't you heard of the phrase 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer'? I think it applies for you in this situation" she says matter of factly and I roll my eyes.
"Maybe so but id rather steer clear of trouble. I've had enough of that for one semester I really don't need any of it in this new one" I cross my arms and Pam pouts. I shake my head, "I will come with you to support but i'm not going to tryout" I tell her and she sighs. "Fine. All that count sis that your there with me" she smiles and I nod my head.
"Alright red, lets get me back to class shall we?"

"Would you relax? Who cares if you're a few minutes late. There's probably a line up in the gym. You being early won't make a difference" I tell Pam as I hastily grab my books and switch them for the ones I don't need.
"Being early makes me look professional and responsible giving the appearance that I won't be late to practices" She gushes and I roll my eyes.
"I highly doubt Barbara will be looking for those traits in the new cheerleader. She'll talk one look at the both of us and send us out the metal gym doors. She hates us Pammy" I tell her and she shrugs.
