"Yo, Justin, it's nice to see you home again buddy!" Alfredo cheered, giving me a bro-hug that seemed to be a silent agreement between all guys my age. You did those half-hugs instead of actual hugs. It was a little bit of a bummer, because sometimes I really was in need of a hug. "How was your vacation?"
"I don't know if I would call it a vacation." I muttered, "things were hectic and unfair."
"I see, did you get to see your princess at least?" He laughed, probably imaging himself making a joke but in reality he was completely right. Princess, is exactly what she is. My princess.
"I did." I shrugged, "She's at home now. She said she wanted to spend some time with her family. She rejected my dinner plans."
"Wow," Alfredo burst out laughing. I narrowed my eyes at him. "Seems like your princess might not see you as her prince then."
"Shut up."
I thought about his words but came to the conclusion that he was wrong. It was not because she didn't want to be with me, she did say that she would love to go out with me, it was simply because she had been away from her family for five months and wanted to spend time with them too. We valued different stuff. I valued her before anything, and she valued me too, but it's not a surprise that she picks her family before me.
I would have probably been wanting to spend time with my mother too if I would have been gone for five months, knowing she was at home sick. I still had yet to figure out whether or not they wanted me to pay her something, medicines or whatever it might be. I was willing to do it, as long as it made Diana happy.
"So you're not going to see her anymore tonight?" Alfredo cut my thoughts off, bringing me back to earth. I furrowed my eyebrows then shook my head. "Wanna go out tonight then? I know this cool club that opened while you were gone, it's pretty sick-"
"No, I'm good." I stopped him, not needed to hear about anything else. "I'm not feeling alcohol and stuff tonight. Plus, Diana said she would call me before she goes to bed and I want to talk to her without being drunk."
"You're so whipped," He mumbled in response. "You're only ever like this when you're really really in love with someone. I haven't seen you like this forever, since when do you even say no to a good time?"
I snorted and decided to defend myself immediately. "I can have a good time with Diana on the phone. A much better time, in fact."
"Whipped," Alfredo mumbled for himself as he stood up whilst shaking his head. It was like he was trying to tell me to stop having feelings, just so that he could go out and have a great time spending all of my money. "I'm still going out."
"Have a good time then." I shrugged.
He huffed, "Okay, let me know if you change your mind."
"I won't." I watched him go over to my computer instead. He sat with his back against me so I could see what exactly he was doing. He opened a new tab and suddenly he was entering TMZ. I quickly walked up to him, "What the fuck are you doing?"
"You have to see this article they wrote about you while you were gone, it's hilarious." Alfredo laughed for himself but I wasn't interested in seeing any article about me. I could imagine what people were saying. Justin Bieber to the Paradise Hotel, what a scandal.
