"Waffles?" Diana questioned as I made an appearance inside the kitchen, shirtless with that messy hair I knew she was obsessed with. I was hoping it would make a somewhat impression on her, make her remember the good old days when she would jump on my without hesitation for whatever I was wearing.
I nodded and sat down, the scent of the freshly baked waffles making me realise I was hungrier than I first thought. With a satisfied smile, she placed a plate in front of me. "I'm a good chef, I promise."
"Yeah because your promises are always so trustworthy, am I right?" I gave Diana a teasing smile, seeing her face immediately turn from satisfied to offended. She almost looked humiliated. Surprisingly, it didn't make me feel bad.
The past week we'd been back to being completely fine again, there have been no lies between us - well except for the ones I hadn't told her about yet - and our relationship wasn't on thin ice anymore. I had seen no sight of Zac or any other of her male friends and I could possibly doubt she had been spending time with anyone. Diana had been strictly wanting to spend time with me and me only.
She's even gone so far that I've been cancelling my own meetings and studio times only because of her begging. Scooter wasn't too fond of it, considering my music was becoming slower and I was working less but honestly? I didn't care. I get to spend time with the one person that matters the most to me, knowing she's with me and not anyone else. I had a hard time imagine I could be happier in this moment.
Still, I couldn't help but tease her about her mistakes every once in a while. I knew it would come back and bite me in the ass if she ever got to know about mine but I was certain of the fact that she wouldn't. I'll make sure of it.
"So, how do you like it?" Diana jumped up on the kitchen island, in front of me. Her body was leaning over the entire space, waiting for my reply. "Is it your ideal Saturday breakfast?"
"I would say so, yes." I only had to move a few inches to be able to touch her lips with mine and place a quick kiss on them, "It's delicious baby."
"Great!" She clapped her hands as if she had won the lottery and then stood up again, a bright wide smile on her lips. "I made plans for us today so if you have anything else on your calendar, I need you to cancel."
"Actually, today is kind of important." I stopped her before she could get any further, "I'm going to a meeting with my team today to plan the big comedy roast. It's going to be major and we need to do a lot of preparing for it, so if it's okay, maybe we could put your plans on hold until tomorrow?"
Suddenly, Diana looked at me with disgust. "You're still doing the roast?"
"Yes, we're going to go through with that." I nodded, reminding myself that her opinion on this mattered but not enough for me to cancel. Once I spoke up about the roast I got a huge no thrown in my face from her and then the talk about humiliation and embarrassment. Diana was nowhere a big fan of the idea of publicly humiliate me and she thought that was the worst idea for my career ever. Then again, what did she know about this world? "You can't-"
"That is absolutely off limits, I thought I told you so?" She scoffed, crossing her arms in the process.
I frowned with confusion, "How can you be the one to decide that? Isn't it my choice?"
"You are not about to embarrass us like that." Diana's words were stern and harsh towards me. Something in her eyes changed for the darker as if she was really scared about this whole thing. It hit me that it wasn't me getting publically humiliated that was the problem, it was about her.
