22. Broken Trust

I have been very uneasy lately. Rea wasn't talking to me. Neither was Anakin. Han tried to comfort me but nothing was working. I was confused. I was scared. Where had my best friend gone. She was supposed to be like my sister but she now seemed like I was her enemy.

I finally tracked Anakin down and literally tied him to a chair so I could get some info out of him.

"What's going in with Rea! Tell me now!" I screamed at Ani. "I could read your mind forcefully or you could tell me peacefully."

"Alright fine. I'll tell you." Ani said.

Basically what he told me was that there had been a voice talking to Rea and she had to work for the dark side to keep us safe. I didn't want to believe it but I knew it was true. Apparently Darth Tenebris was who seduced her. I wanted him dead.

"Who is Darth Tenebris? He must know Rea somehow." I asked.

"Oh yea. Umm....he knows her alright. Darth Tenebris is Ben." Anakin said nervously.

"What!" I said angrily. Then I lost it. I punched a wall. I was really mad. I was screaming. I wanted to find Ben. I wanted to kill him.

I let Anakin go and I walked out of the room. Rea had just returned.

"What's up Leila." Rea said.

"I don't know you tell me." I said through gritted teeth.

"You know, don't you. Let me explain. I had no choice. Ani would die." She said.

"That's what we are for! We could protect you and him. We are supposed to have each others back. I guess that isn't important any more is it!" I yelled.

"Look calm down it isn't my fault!" Rea said as calm as she could.

"Yes it is. We were best friends. Sisters. So I thought. Let me tell you something. The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies. I didn't think that was true but now I know differently." I said. I was trying to control my temper.

"I can't believe you don't understand! I thought you would see things differently! I guess I was wrong!" Rea said. She was struggled to control her anger to.

I finally snapped. "THAT'S IT! GET OFF MY SHIP!" I screamed.

"So this is how it is, isn't it?" Rea said a little hurt. I didn't care any more. She broke my trust.

"Just go Rea. I don't want to hurt you. Sometimes I can't control it. Just leave. Don't come back." I said with my back facing her.

"I plan on returning in time. Maybe the you will understand why I have to do this." She said.

"I understand your motives but with you the outcome is always different." I said fighting back tears.

Rea left after I finished talking. Then I took a moment to remember her appearance. She was dressed in black. She had yellow eyes. She was angrier that she normally was. I didn't want to fight her. I hope I wouldn't have to.

Something told me I would.

My story is very different than Chapstick4ever's version of this chapter. I didn't want to copy her. We work together on some parts of the story. I just thought I would make things go differently in my story.
