Chapter 2, Bang The Dolldrums.

The cool October air licked my face as i walked down the path, through the gate and turned left to walk to college. It wasn't exactly boiling, but it wasn't freezing cold either. I felt nervous about joining college in October, when lessons had already begun, but i guess i had no choice. I put my headphones in and pressed 'Shuffle all songs' and the song 'Bang The Dolldrums' came on by Fall Out Boy. I remember when me and my best friend, Matilda, back in Brighton had our first sleepover, we bonded over this song so much. I was never really one to have lots of friends, but i was never socially isolated. My new neighbourhood was very 'picturesque', but that's what you'd expect from living in Holmes Chapel. I had googled the route to college last week and spent about half an hour studying it, so i had no problem finding my way. After about 20 minuets walk i noticed a lot more people my age walking in the same direction as me, so i knew i must be near.

I saw it, a big sign saying Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School. It was a secondary and a 6th form. There were lots of young looking children standing outside, in their cute little uniforms which included grey cardigan jumpers and blzaers, and lots of teenagers in their own clothes. The 6th formers were allowed to wear their own clothes. When i got to there, i went straight to the reception area to ask for my timetable. My day looked pretty full. Double psychology, law and music and biology. I had decided to take Psychology, law, biology and music as my chosen A-level subjects, but since it was a 6th form i also had to do maths and english as compulsary, and ICT was optional but i took it anyway. The receptionist also gave me a list of books i needed to buy for the achedemic year from the library. Luckily I could see a sign just down the corridor that said 'Library' and therefore did not need to talk to any of the intimidating looking students in the reception area where it was. I put my timetable in my pocket and set off to buy my books.

Leaving the library, balancing an arm full of books in one arm and my phone in the other, i saw it was 8:45 which meant my lesson was in 15 minuets, shit. Rushing down the corridor, i pulled my timetable out my pocket and stared at it aimlessly. I obviously wasn't looking where i was going and the next thing i know i've collided with someone and landed with a thud onto my ass. The next thing a i know a tall, handsome boy with short light brown hair is next to me getting to his feet. He was was wearing a white shirt with blue stripes on it, redish jeans and white toms. I looked at his face, his grey blue eyes met mine. His fridge swept to the left. He offered a hand , I took it and he pulled me up.

"Im really sorry, i wasn't looking where i was going, im just really-"

"It's fine, honestly love" He grinned. "I'll help you pick your stuff up"

i just looked around and noticed the contence of my bag were scattered around the area of the collision, my books were everywhere. "Thanks" I replied sheepishly.

"So how come i haven't seen you around before? I'm pretty sure i know every girl on campus and i don't recognise your pretty little face" he said cheekily, scooping up my bag.

"Oh.. Yeah i'm new here." I said, blushing slightly and picking up my books. I wasn't used to compliments, especially not from strangers. "I'm sorry again, really i am"

"It's alright love, don't sweat it" he said picking up my timetable and handing it to me along with my bag. "Do you need any help getting to your class?"

"Im pretty sure its down here" i said, pointing the in the direction i was origionally rushing in before we collided. "I've got Psychology with Mr. Harper in room 223"

"Oh well that means you're in my class! And it also means you were going in completely the wrong direction!" He said, stiffiling a laugh

"Oh right, silly me.." i said, feeling embrassed and feeling my cheeks go ever redder.
