"That's right, Celena," Jonathan said, turning us to a side.
I beamed at his compliment. Comment, my wolf added. I ignored her.
It was just Jonathan, and I, swaying side to side, my eyes glued to his as he looked at me like I was the only person worth looking at.
It was like a dream come true. My mate and I, dancing together, chest close.
Jonathan leaned in again, and I listened to hear instructions, but instead, he said huskily, "Did I tell you that you look absolutely stunning in that dress?"
I missed a step, blushing both at his words and my embarrassing move, and Jonathan slowly guided me back to the beat of the music.
"No,"
"Well I apologize, I was too lost in words to say it when I first saw you walking in tonight," At this, I look up at him to see him smile. He looked so happy and relaxed I couldn't help but smile wider.
"May I cut in?" A young man who looked a few years older than me asked, looking between Jonathan and I. It was then that I realized that the music had stopped for a next one.
Jonathan nodded silently, his lips sealed. Yet his hands stayed by my side as if he didn't want to let go. After an awkward moment, Jonathan reluctantly put his hands by his side as he took a step back from me. "Yes Daren," my mate turned to me, his eyes going over my body again. "I'll see you later Celena,"
Daren turned to me. "May I have this dance, my Luna?"
Though I wasn't officially Luna of our pack yet, I nodded and took his hand.
"I'm honoured to be dancing with you," Daren said, his hands shaking slightly at my side. I blinked.
"Oh you didn't need to say that, Daren! But thank you," he smiled but said nothing.
"Are you... All right?" I asked and he looked at me and blushed. "Oh sorry... you're just so pretty and you're so close to me!"
I smiled. "You don't need to feel so nervous around me, relax and move to the music." I was beginning to wonder if he was younger than he looked.
He grinned. "Ahha.. I must sound so stupid right now, I apologize,"
"No need," I said and we danced for a little more.
Donovan
When Jonathan took Celena's hand and moved deeper into the room, I turned around to the refreshments table, and made some light conversations with some members. Some were surprised Celena wasn't beside me, but I just said she was enjoying her time and meeting new people. A small voice in my head, my wolf I think, told me to look towards the entrance. This pull...
I looked ahead of me, where the double doors opened, and a young woman with a mask walked in. Mate...
I bowed politely to the man I was talking to, excuses myself and went to Sophia.
When I reached her, she stopped and stared at me. "Sophia...?" I asked. Most of the guests were in the centre of the room, and no one was near the entrance.
"Donovan I'm so sorry! I just wanted to attend... I-I made this dress, and this mask... Please let me stay, even for 10 minutes more... I just wanted to watch. I won't take any food-"
I took her hand, her small shaking hand and kissed the top. "Sophia, do not apologize. Yes- seeing you here is surprising- but I will allow you to stay here. And you thought I wouldn't notice you wearing this mask...?" I reached up a hand to trace the sides of the dark, mysterious mask, covering my mate's face.
"Oh..." She was speechless, standing awkwardly. I shook my head at her nervousness, and asked her. "Sophia, would you accept if I asked you for a dance?"
Sophia
The future Alpha... my mate... Is asking me to dance with him. Me... A maid, a servant of the pack.
"Yes," I said, and gulped.
"Your mask is lovely... but I would rather see your beautiful face," Donovan slowly takes off the mask I was wearing and places it on one of the refreshment tables nearby.
He put his hands around me and we moved slowly and quietly in the corner of the room. Just me and Donovan.
"You made this dress?"
"Yes, I designed it,"
"Oh Sophia, you are too precious for this world, risking getting caught just to come here. Your dress looks beautiful on you." His words sent a shiver of happiness down my body, striking my wolf to purr.
"Thank you,"
I forgot about work, my many dresses to be fixed and sewed, and I just looking into my mates eyes. There's no place I'd rather be.
