--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Black. That was the world around me.
The air was cold and damp, but warm at the same time. I began walking, not having any idea where I was.
Things began covering my body all over. Snow. That I was sure of.
I walked and walked, not knowing where I was or where I was going.
The sky turned brigher, whiter, with each step that I took. The once unseen snow turned to a dark black. It began falling in reverse, heading towards the sky instead of away from it. I looked around, smiling. Everything was backwards. Everything was beautiful. I never wanted to leave this strange place.
As I turned. I noticed a figure in the distance. I gasped. "Damien," I said allowed. Even though I had not spoken loud enough for a human to hear me from that far away, he turned his face towards me. I could not make out his features, still didn't know what he looked like. He was just a bright glow in the far distance.
I was terrified to walk any closer to him, but I knew that in order to get where I needed to go, and I didn't know where that was yet, I had to get to him.
I began at a suitable pace, walking faster than normal. Then I began jogging. I then broke into a sprint, yelling his name. The boy named Damien turned and began walking in the direction away from me.
Even though I was running and he was walking, I couldn't seem to catch up to him. I yelled after him once more, and he stopped. I collapsed, gasping fo air. "Damien," I whispered once more as he turned back and walked off into the distance until I could no longer see him. My lungs burned and my side felt pinched. I lied back on the ground, the reverse snow running up my legs and back before floating off into the sky.
Do you love me? The words echoed through the neverendingness. I sat up, no idea where the words came from. It didn't matter though because I realized what I now had to do. I had to follow Damien.
I got up and began jogging again, still tired. Another figure, a different one this time, began showing in the distance. As I got closer, I noticed that it was a large door. Green vines covered it and wrapped around the hinges, its purple flowers blooming and reverse blooming right in front of my eyes.
Damien was inside the door. I could feel it. I took a dee breath, closed my eyes, and pushed through the door.

I awoke on the steps of my school. Coughing and spitting up a little blood on the cement, I turned my head back, exposing a new face that I had never seen. There was a boy squatting next to me. He had dark black hair and pale blue eyes. His skin was pale, and he had two shiny snake bites on his lip.
"Are you okay?" he said with a soft, concerned voice. I stared in awe at his unnatural beauty. "I-I-I'm fine. Thank you. I'm Asher," I said with a hand outheld. The boy smiled. "I'm Damien."
