Mondays were always the worst day of the week for me, but knowing that I had to see Kristian, knowing that he had something to do with Gregory's death, was sickening. As much as I didn't want to go to school this morning, I knew that I needed to since I missed Friday, and I promised Roar that I would go the next day that we had school. The only thing that even made me have a glimmer of happiness about going was the thought of seeing Damien. I hadn't seen him since Friday when I was at his house, and the seperation was killing me.

For the rest of the weekend, after going to the mall on Saturday, I also coulnd't stop thinking about Mitch. I remembered the piece of paper with his number on it in my pants pocket, and I made a mental note to text him later. I wondered if he was thinking of me as much as I was thinking of him.

I didn't put much effort into getting ready today. In fact, I didn't even bother to change out of my Hello Kitty sleep pants. I threw a random t-shirt on that I found lying in my floor, combed my hair without straightening it, and didn't bother to put any more makeup on. I brushed my teeth, grabbed my backpack, and walked outside.

Roar met me on the sidewalk with a strange look on her face. "Lazy day?" she guessed. I nodded. "I hate Mondays," I said, annoyed.

When we got to school, since I had decided to drive to school instead of walking, I parked the Bug in the back of the student parking lot. As we approached the steps, the one person that I was looking forward to seeing so much was there to greet me...with a punch to the balls. "Why don't you give those pants back to your friend, here?" Kyle asked me, nodding towards Roar.

I was doubled over in pain, clutching my pants. "Oh, you mean it can actually hurt even when you don't have balls?" he asked.

Through my hair, I could see the disgusting, yellow grin on Kyle's face, the way the sun glinted off of his oily brown hair, the stubble on his face that he didn't bother to tame. "Why, you son of a..." "Roar," I interrupted her. She looked down at me. The pain had eased enough for me to be able to stand again. Kyle laughed at Roar's almost comment. "Ignore him Roar," I told her. "He's not worth it." She nodded. "You're right," she said. We began to walk off, and Kyle decided that another unneccessary comment was needed. "Oh, and I saw you mom last night. She was out drinking, so I brought her back to my place."

If it wasn't known that my mom was an extreme alchoholic slut, then I wouldn't have cared about the comment. I would have brushed it off as another stupid comeback because they couldn't think of a different one. But since everyone did know that about my mom, I took it offensively.

Kyle closed his eyes, threw his head back and laughed. He opened his mouth once again, but was stopped by Roar's fist colliding with his mouth and nose. He screamed and fell backwards on the concrete. Blood poured down his face and dripped onto his white wife beater.

He stared up at Roar with a look that read," I can't believe you just did that." Kyle was used to everyone cowering away from him since he was so big, but Roar wasn't scared of anyone. She lived with an abuser, so she could take just about anything. Despite her actual size, Roar was huge in toughness.

"And if I ever even see you look in Asher's direction, so help me, the last thing you will be seeing is stars. Get my drift?" she asked him. Kyle nodded. I think that Roar's punch knocked Kyle down a few notches, giving him a taste of reality.

When we turned to walk off and go into the school, I noticed that half of the student body was staring at us. Everything was quiet, and it made everything feel that much more awkward. Roar didn't seem to notice though. She strode right up the steps to the school and slammed the door against the wall, tearing down everyone in her way. I meekly followed her, trying my best to keep up with her fast stride.
