"What's wrong? You're acting strange." Calvin asked as he twirled the cigarette between his fingertips.

"No I'm not." Pyro said as he pulled his lighter from his jacket and lit both of their cigarettes. "Didn't you say you had an assignment to work on?"

"Stop trying to change the sub-"

"Seriously Cal, if you don't get passing grades you won't graduate." The younger man talked over Calvin.

"My grades are fine. Just tell me what's wrong."

Pyro realized that this is probably how the junior had felt when he wouldn't stop pestering him.

"Greg confronted me today."

"About what?" Calvin asked.

"Nothing really.. He just wants me to stop hanging around you."

"Did he say why?"

"Because I'm a 'bad influence'."

Calvin almost laughed at the irony. Greg was determining who was a bad influence after the chain reaction he caused in the Calvin's life?

"That's funny coming from him."

"Yeah, I know."

There was a silence filled with them taking long drags from their cigarettes.

"So how have you been lately?" Pyro asked.

"Fine, why?"

Pyro shrugged. "Just asking. You've looked paler than usual lately."

"Dont worry I'm fine. I probably just caught something, you know?"

Pyro nodded, blowing smoke out the window next to him. "I have to ask you something."

"What is it?"

"Just tell me if you dont want to answer okay?" He continued when Calvin gave him a small nod. "That night.. At the party.. What exactly happened?"

He swore he saw the older man tense when he mentioned the party. "I.. Um.. I didn't really want to go, but I wanted to avoid my parents so I did. When I got there, you.. Drugged me and then I went upstairs. About half an hour later I started to feel weird and I couldn't see right. I felt dizzy." Calvin took in a shaky breath.

"That guy I called a gnome found me and.." Images flashed in front of Calvin's eyes, the whole thing playing in his mind.

"He.. Um.." Calvin's voice cracked and tears collected in the corners of his eyes.

Pyro pulled the man into an embrace which Calvin melted into, tears falling onto the younger's shirt. He felt guilty about asking and causing him to break into sobs.

"I'm sorry.. I shouldn't have asked." Pyro said softly as he rubbed the man's back and pulled him into his lap. He hated seeing Calvin like this, it felt as if something inside of him was aching when he looked at the man's tear stained face.

"It just.. It hurt so much." Calvin's said in between sobs. "I couldn't do anything.."

"Shh.. It's never going to happen again.." Pyro planted a kiss on the man's forehead as he tried to comfort him.

He would make sure it wouldn't happen again.

Calvin ended up crying himself to sleep, which was good because the junior rarely got any sleep from the constant loud arguing of his parents or the fear of his father abusing him when he wasn't alert.

Pyro picked up the sleeping man and carefully set him down on the bed. He brushed the man's hair away from his closed eyes before planting a kiss on his lips and leaving the room.

Pyro: We need to talk.

Greg: How the fuck did you get my number?

Pyro: Keem gave it to me a while back.

Greg: Where do you want to meet?

Pyro gave Greg his address.

Pyro opened the door and allowed Greg to come inside.

"Don't be loud. Cal's sleeping."

Greg froze. "Did you-"

"No."

"Does he sleep here often?"

"Every once in awhile when he's too impaired to walk home."

Greg frowned at the thought of Pyro and Calvin sleeping in the same bed.

"What did you want to talk about?"

"Come on." Pyro gestured to the kitchen.

They both took a seat across from each other at the kitchen table. The tense atmosphere made the air around them feel thicker.

"I think it's you who needs to leave him alone."

Greg raised an eyebrow. "I'm the one trying to help him recover."

"You're also the one who caused the incident in the first place mate."

"I've told you it wasn't supposed-"

"Even if that hadn't happened, you were still going to beat the shit out of him anyway, right?"

Greg was silent for a few seconds. "It's different now."

"Why? Because you've got a crush on him? Because you care for him? Either way, you've got a strange way of showing it. You're always making jokes about his weight instead of trying to get him to eat. You're just a fucking psychopath."

"You think you're better with your fucking accent? Always giving him drugs, thinking it'll somehow help him recover."

"Weed usually makes you hungry afterwards, so yes. By smoking weed with him I am trying to help him because maybe, just maybe, he will actually eat."

"And what about the heroin?"

"How do you know about the heroin?"

"Calvin was walking home and it was about the rain and surprise, he was high."

"I was trying to make him happy, but it didn't seem to make him.. The right kind of happy, you know?'

"No, I don't know. You are going to get him addicted sooner or later and then you will have to get him clean again."

"He'll be fine. We don't do heroin all the time. Only every once in-"

"What the fuck is Greg doing here?" Calvin asked as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes with his sleeve.

"He was just leaving." Pyro said, glaring over at the older man.

Greg returned the glare before glancing at Calvin and leaving the house.

"Feeling better?"

"Yeah, um.. What just happened?"

"Nothing, don't worry about it."
