AVERY'S P.O.V:
My fingertips brushed the cold sterile bench, a hand reached for mine and tightly gripped it. My mother held on tightly as the white coated figure entered the room. Doctor Perkskine sat down on a desk chair and stared at me solemnly. I glanced at the floor and met his grey eyes. He let out a low cough, opening his folder."Avery, we received your results back from the tests," he began.
My mother stared at him, I could see a frightened look in her eyes.
"The results have shown that you are in the late stages of leukemia, there is therapy available, but it may not necessarily be effective, the cancer is spreading quickly. We do have another kind of treatment available, it is quite expensive and if you choose to take it you will have to remain in hospital for over two years. Then from there's it will take another four years for your body to function normally without the treatment," he finished.
I stared at Doctor Perkskine, thoughts racing through my mind.
"What happens if I don't take this "magical" treatment," I asked.
Perkskine gave me a sad smile, "You will die this Summer".
