AVERY'S P.O.V:
Two years later....
Nurse Winston attached the drip into my arm, "Here we are last treatment for the next two months."
I gave her a small smile as I adjusted to the discomfort of the needle.
"Three days a week out of this place! Exciting."
"Don't be cheeky Miss Avery, you should think yourself lucky," she tutted.
I tucked the short strands of raven hair behind my ear, "I'm very lucky."
"Your hairs getting so long now," she commented.
"Nothing compared to what it was before, its starting to grow on me though."
My phone flash began to flicker, Nurse Winston passed me the mobile.
"You should really be focusing on your studies right now Missy. College isn't as easy as you're treating it."
I grinned at her, "Is that why my paper has this big red 'A' on it."
She waved me off and left the room. I swiped at the green on my phone. A familiar face flooded the screen.
"Hey there," I greeted.
"Avery," Shawn grinned.
"What do I owe the pleasure?"
"It takes only a month of me being gone to forget that our anniversary is today," he joked.
I glanced at the rings glittering on my fingers. I waved them at him.
"Whoops. Happy anniversary Shawn."
"Happy anniversary Avery."
"What time is it over there?" I asked.
"It is around eight in the morning," he replied.
"Really? It's like eight here too."
"That's weird."
A collision at the door drew my attention away from the screen. Shawn burst into the room, guitar cases in hand.
"What are you doing here?"
"You didn't think that I would miss my one year anniversary with my gorgeous wife, did you?"
"Get over here," I laughed.
He organised his cases by the door and rushed over to the small bed. His hair had grown since the last time I'd seen him but still displayed the curls I adored. He arranged himself next to me, his feet over hanging. He gave me a quick peck, peering into my eyes. He pressed his lips against mine once more.
"Mrs Mendes," he mumbled.
"Mr Mendes."
"My, my, you look beautiful."
"Because having needles puncturing you is the most attractive look there is," I said.
"I think you make anything look attractive," he winked.
