AVERY'S P.O.V
I sat anxiously watching the bottle spin, it came to a halt landing on the person directly next to me. I took a deep breath, celebrating my small victory in my head. Two bodies plopped down beside me, one of them elbowed me. I turned to face them, finding Kayleigh and to my surprise Jake.

"Look who I found looking for you," she faked smiled.

I flashed her a look before turning to Jake, "Hey Jake, why were you looking for me?"

"You said we could talk tonight, I've been looking for you for like over two hours," he whined.

I flashed back to our conversation in the school's parking lot, not recalling anything of the such. His blue eyes were staring at me intently, both Kayleigh and Jake were waiting for my response.

"I'm so sorry, it must have slipped my mind, you know with the game and all," I gestured to Isla and her army of skanks.

Kayleigh choked down a laugh and turned to me with a wicked look in her eyes, "Avery, why don't you and Jake go outside and talk, I'll gladly take your place in this game."

I shot her a dirty look, before moving out from the circle. "Would you like to talk Jake?" I asked.

He gave a huge smile to Kayleigh and practically jumped up, "That would be great," he exclaimed.

After shooting Kayleigh a deadly look, I weaved my way through the crowd of intoxicated teenagers, Jake following behind me.  We found a quiet space in a corner of a wicket setting, as we sat there awkwardly the temptation of alcohol was actually beginning to grow on me. I brushed a few of my raven strands back into the bun and adjusted my skirt. I opened my mouth to make an attempt at awkward conversation, when suddenly Jake began to ramble.

"Avery, I know this seems sudden, but I need you to know that I'm still in love with you. Since our break up I've haven't felt the same. I need you back in my life, so I was gonna ask you if you want to get back together tonight. You probably realised dumping me was a mistake. So are you willing to give us another chance Avery?"

Within his ramble I'd knocked my cup of Fanta over, I met his blue eyes with my emerald ones.

"Jake, listen-" I began.

"I know it's too much all at one, but there is one simple answer to the question," he finished, Jake leaned closer to me, cornering me on the wicket setting. His lips were in a kissing position, nearly as slobbery as a dog.

I coughed loudly, "Well would you look at that, it's nearly midnight. I should be getting home and I have early shift at the cafe tomorrow, great talk Jake. We will definitely wrap this up another time."

He stared at me blankly, "You don't even have a watch on," he stated.

"Sure I do, I'll catch you later, enjoy the party," I smiled.

I started pushing my way back into the crowd, barely catching Jake's last sentence "Call me", I tried to find a aqua head in the swarm of people. I felt like I was in the "Maze Runner" except my obstacles were teenagers and my final destination was Kayleigh. I finally discovered her in an upstairs bedroom, making out with a stranger. I quickly closed the door, disgusted. Waiting another ten minutes, Kayleigh finally surfaced.

"We need to leave," I demanded.

Kayleigh swayed, she was obviously buzzed from whatever alcohol she had consumed.

"We are not leaving, Isla just texted everyone that Shawn Mendes and Cameron Dallas are on their way! No way am I throwing away a chance at getting a slice of one of those," she snapped.
