Chapter 16

    All the kids are packed in two booths at a random waffle house. Everyone laughing and joking. The waitress seems a little shaky since there a group of kids being loud here at 3 am seems pretty odd. Mel and Ashley hit it off pretty well since they first met.

"Why havent we ever seen you around campus before, Mel?" Ashley questioned getting everyone quite. "Uh. Um I just moved here...and...yeah Im new some people were talking about this party thing so I wanted to go." Melanie basically coughed that out. "Oh okay. Where are you from" Ashley tilts her head questionably. "Im from Nyc" Melanie said that quickly. Melanie's phone started going off so she got up and took the call. She walked outside. Everyone watched her still in silence. She was pleading to someone on the other end. Then she turned and seen everyone looking at her. Everyone's heads shot to the waitress who had finally brought their food. 

" 3 pancake delights. 1 ultimate platter. 2 strawberry and creme panckes. And 3 triple stacked bacon and BBQ cheese burgers."

Everyones food was placed down infront of them and they began to chomp down. Before Ashley ate her food she paused and looked at everyone. "Mel is adorable but she is hiding something." "Yeah she definitely is." Brendon replied but with food stuffing his mouth. Josh was  about to say something but Melanie walked in. She sat down quietly. She just started eating her food. Everyone started to eat, talk, and joke again. Tyler pulled Melanie to the desert station.

"Whats going on?" Tyler said to Mel

"Nothing just hun-"

"Shut u- just what. What happened just now." Tyler tried to keep his cool before he snap. He can get angry when he knows he has a test in the morning.

Melanie looks down as if she was about to cry.

"Im in high school. And I..uh have school in the morning. My mom doesn't know where I am. Thats who I was on the phone.  She says if Im not back in an hour she's calling the police to find me. I was going to run away after we all got back to th- your school." Melanie had cried so hard.

"Melanie we have to get you home like rig- where do you even really live?"

"Manhattan" Melanie sobbed into the napkin.

   Tyler grabbed her hand and pulled her back to the table. Everyone stopped and gasped asking whats wrong.

"Guys we have to go back to New York right now! Wrap up all your food!" Tyler appointed

"Wait why?" Dallon says trying to throw all his food into the box and drink down his soda.

"Ill tell you later. Lets go now!"

They all run out paying the bill and each throwing down $5.
